DEAN’S REPORT 2014-2015

VSB SEEKS TO DEVELOP BUSINESS LEADERS FOR A BETTER WORLD.® We do this through the promotion of academic excellence; a focus on building a strong community of faculty, staff, students and alumni; opportunities for students to serve others; and services and programs that provide a student experience like no other. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my three years as The Helen and William O’Toole Dean of VSB and I’m proud of all we’ve accomplished. Please review the following pages for highlights of the 2014-2015 academic year. As I transition into my new role as University Provost, I know that the school is in good hands with Interim Dean Daniel Wright. I appreciate your support and dedication to VSB, and I look forward to our continued work together.

HIGH-ACHIEVING STUDENTS UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM

GRADUATE AND EXECUTIVE PROGRAMS In the fall of 2014, two new online programs were launched —the online MBA program, and the Master of Science in Analytics program. All admissions decisions are made by the team to ensure the same high quality candidates are accepted into these programs as in our portfolio of graduate business programs. We’ve also increased the diversity of our graduate and executive programs both ethnically and geographically with our inaugural online class.

The high demand for a place in the Villanova School of Business is reflected by the greater than ten to one ratio of applicants to enrollment slots in VSB. This year, VSB again engaged two Dean’s Advisory Council members to reach our accepted students in a unique, impactful way. One wrote a letter to accepted students on corporate letterhead that was mailed to each student’s home address. The other made a video congratulating the applicants.
