A

fter graduating from St. Joseph’s University and earning

her doctorate in Business Administration from The Pennsylvania State University, Jennifer Altamuro taught as a visiting assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and as an assistant professor at The Ohio State University.

JENNIFER ALTAMURO, PhD The Megan ’07 and Matthew ’06 Baldwin Assistant Professor

She has completed extensive research in the field of finance and has been featured in publications like The Accounting Review and The Journal of Accounting and Economics. She has also delivered numerous presentations at high-ranking universities like Columbia University, Dartmouth College and the University of Pennsylvania. She joins the Accounting department as an assistant professor.


MICHAEL CURRAN, PhD

Assistant Professor, Economics

I

reland native Michael Curran received his bachelor’s degree in Math

and Economics from Trinity College Dublin, two master’s degrees in Economics from Cambridge University and Northwestern University, and his doctorate in Economics from Trinity College Dublin, where he served as an adjunct lecturer and a research assistant. He received numerous national and international scholarships, stipends, and research grants, and was awarded the Young Economist of The Year Denis Coniffe Prize 2015 by the Irish Economic Association. After spending time as a visiting PhD student at the University of Pennsylvania, he attended the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings, an annual, globally recognized forum for the transfer of knowledge between generations of scientists. From a pool of 20,000 scientists, he was one of only 450 who were invited to attend.

Though his primary research field is in international financial macroeconomics, Curran also spends time researching new macroeconometrics, computational economics and econometrics. He joins the Economics department as an assistant professor.


CAITLIN

DANNHAUSER, PhD Assistant Professor, Finance

A

familiar face to the Villanova community, Caitlin

Dannhauser graduated from VSB in 2005 with summa cum laude honors and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She served as a teaching and research assistant at Boston College’s Carroll School of Management, where she also earned her doctorate in Finance.

She is currently involved in multiple research projects in the fields of empirical asset pricing, investments, institutional investors and market microstructure. She joins the Finance department as an assistant professor.


D

r. Harris graduated from The University of Florida’s

Warrington College of Business as a Dean’s List student with honors and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She earned her master’s from The University of Miami and her doctorate from Temple University’s Fox School of Business. After serving as an instructor, research assistant and teaching assistant at Temple University, Harris became an assistant professor at Rutgers University, where she taught for four

years and received the Camden 2014 Faculty Research Award.

Her primary area of research is centered on nonprofit accounting. She is also a certified public accountant in the states of Florida and Pennsylvania, and a member of the American Accounting Association. She joins the Accounting department as an assistant professor.


PANKAJ C. PATEL, PhD

D

Frank J. and Jane E. Ryan Endowed Chair in Strategy and Innovation

r. Patel comes to VSB after teaching as an associate professor of

management at the Miller College of Business at Ball State University. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a minor in Mathematics from Spalding University and received his master’s and doctorate in Entrepreneurship from The University of Louisville.

With his computer science background, Dr. Patel has made technology and governance his primary area of research, with operations in new ventures being a secondary area of study. He has published articles in journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Journal of Operations Management, Production and Operations Managements, Organization Science, and Strategic Management Journal. He has also delivered over 60 presentations at national and international conferences and has co-authored a paper that received the 2012 Decision Sciences Journal Best Paper Award. He joins the Management department as an associate professor and as the Frank J. and Jane E. Ryan Endowed Chair in Strategy and Innovation.


KEITH P. WRIGHT

Instructor, Accountancy and Information Systems

Co-founder of Simplicity On-Demand LLC, Keith Wright returns to the realm of education after spending nearly a decade in global sales and business operations. An accomplished global software sales and services leader, Wright holds two bachelor’s degrees, one in Business Administration from Ryerson University and another in IT Education from The University of Toronto, and earned his master’s with a concentration in Information Systems and Marketing from The University of Calgary. Before focusing on software sales, Wright spent nine years as the chair and professor of Mount Royal University Business School in Calgary, Canada. During his time at MRU, he co-led the launch of a new small business and entrepreneurship degree program, co-wrote and implemented a curriculum plan for the program, and taught small business and IT classes. He received the “E” Award for teaching excellence from the University Student’s Association. He joins the Management and Information Systems department as an instructor.


ZEYNEP

KABUKCUOGLU, PhD Assistant Professor, Economics

D

r. Kabukcuoglu earned her bachelor’s degree in Industrial

Engineering from Bilkent University, located in her homeland of Turkey, and her master’s in Economics from Boston College. She received her doctorate in Economics from The University of Pittsburgh last August and also worked as a teaching assistant in the Department of Economics during her time there.

Specializing in the fields of macroeconomics, international macroeconomics and financial economics, her professional experience includes working as a research assistant at Boston College and Harvard Business School. She is also a recipient of The University of Pittsburgh 2014-15 David B. Houston Human Rights and Social Justice in Latin America Scholarship, an award given to students whose academic interests and career plans make them agents of change and service among the people of Latin America. She joins the Economics department as an assistant professor.
