Overview Sir Padampat Singhania University has been established by an Act of the State Government of Rajasthan in 2007, under the aegis of the JK Cement Group of companies just outside of Udaipur, Rajasthan and approved by UGC. SPSU is a private residential University dedicated to provide a unique environment & opportunity for its students and scholars to whet their personalities in a robust academic system and to enjoy a first class experience of campus life.
Academic Programmes The University has two schools - School of Engineering and School of Management. The programme offerings at SPSU follow a contemporary curriculum, taught by a competent faculty and are underpinned by an outstanding educational infrastructure. The University offers programmes leading to undergraduate, post-graduate and doctoral degrees in the areas of engineering and management. Each academic programme has a different eligibility criteria and a well-defined course structure which is available at http://www.spsu.ac.in.
Industry Accredited Programmes SPSU has academic arrangements with several multinational companies who have industry accredited offerings. These programmes, though not part of our regular curriculum, is brought to selected students in addition to their degree programme. Some of the industry accredited programmes are in conjunction with IBM, Sun Microsystems and PTC.

Excellence is central to the ethos of the University. It is merit which determines admission, classifies students into sections and allocates hostel accommodation. SPSU offers scholarships to students based on their excellence in academics. The norms for tuition fee waiver for the students are: 1. Overall topper of the University in the semester - 100%
2. Students securing (in the semester) GPA of 9.0 and above - 70%. 3. Student who stand first in their branch in the semester - 60%

Mentorship Initiative The University has a very successful mentorship programme to foster the culture of strong bonding between students and academia. Mentorship is a helping relationship in which an individual with more experience lends knowledge, advice and encouragement to a person with less experience. Students in the University are divided into small groups and each group is looked after by a mentor. The basic aim of the mentorship programme is to provide a holistic environment where prospective engineers develop as socially responsible human beings.
Extra Curricular Activities At SPSU, students work and play hard. All extra and co-curricular activities are organised under Clubs at the University. SPSU prides itself in having a student driven culture on campus. Students are exposed to real life experiences when they conduct the University admissions, design and create our website and manage various clubs and cells. The clubs' activities range from drama, writing, debates, dancing, computer programming, machine-designing to sports like cricket, football, volleyball, badminton and table tennis. organizational skills, ingenuity and innovation of the students are tested when they arrange the University's signature event "Panache" -our annual tech-management and cultural festival.

Training and Placements are an integral part of the degree programmes (B.Tech & MBA) at SPSU. The University places very high importance on the student's employability and thus has a Training and Placement Cell in place which networks with the Industry on a regular basis. Since inception, there has been a near 100% placement for all our graduating students. The salient features of the batch of students who graduated in June 2013 are: • Over 95% of the students successfully placed. • One student has five offers. • Seventy four students have two offers. • Ten students have four offers. • Twenty five students have three offers. • One twenty five students have one offers.

University Infrastructure • The SPSU campus has wireless connectivity in all the academic areas . • The University has 325 Mbps internet connectivity which comprises 300 Mbps Fiber Optic connectivity from BSNL, 25Mbps radio link connectivity from Tata Tele service. • Each student at the University has a separate email ID with dedicated 7 GB space. • All laboratories in the University are state-of-the- art. Each laboratory is equipped with modern and sophisticated equipment to facilitate practical learning. • All classrooms are spacious and equipped with modern furniture, green boards and LCD projectors. • The Library has access to important national and international journals both as hard copies and as e-journals, the library remains open for 12 hours everyday. The library is fully computerized. • Being a residential university all the students are required to stay in the hostels. • The campus has separate hostels for boys and girls, equipped with amenities like geysers and high speed internet connectivity. Internet connectivity is available to each student in the hostels. • The campus has two separate messes one vegetarian and the other non-vegetarian, each with completely separate contractors, cooking utensils, cutlery and dining halls.

The Programme The University offers all its academic programme in Semester System with Course Credit. As per this system, apart from conducting research on the particular problem, all the Ph.D scholars shall be required to complete 16 credit of course work involving both Major and Minor disciplines. After completion of the course work (16 credit) a Ph.D scholar may be allowed to conduct his/her research work in another institute, recognized by SPSU, on the terms and conditions approved by the University.

School of Management Under Graduate Degree
BBM (Full time) It is a degree programme leading to BBM. It is a rigorous course of study to equip a student with techniques of management. Details of fee and subjects of study for each semester are given. Any student hailing from 12th standard, irrespective of his/her background in commerce, science or arts will be eligible to seek admission to BBM course. Students who ultimately wish to pursue a professional course in Management needs orientation from the beginning and, therefore, this course is being offered to ensure grooming of students for the course. This course provides an opportunity to specialize in Management science where total exposure to various aspects of Management science will be given.

Industrial Visits

The programme is structured in such a manner that the course content prescribed by the Association of International Accountants is covered substantially. The programme blends the three module of AIA study with SPSU curriculum.While studying, the student can appear and clear each of the three modules along with this programme. • The three AIA modules are: Module 1 - Foundation Course Module 2 - Professional Level I Module 3 - Professional Level II • Students with commerce degree, CAs, CSs and Cost Accountant will get exemption from Module1, while others will have to clear the Foundation Course. Substantively, students with commerce background will do the following: • After first semester they will appear for the SPSU exam and Module 2 Professional Level I. • After the second semester, they will appear for SPSU exam and Module 3 Professional Level II. Students pursuing this programme and who do not have a commerce background will, in addition to the above, have to clear the Module 1 Foundation Course.

Advance Diploma in Accounting (AIA LONDON)
Diploma: This programme in accounting will result in the following: 1. Advanced Diploma in Accounting from SPSU. 2. One gets up to three qualifications from AIA i Certificate at the end of Module 1 ii Advance Diploma at the end of Module 2 iii Membership of AIA at the end of Module 3 Duration: 1 year Eligibility for admission Commerce Graduate (B. Com./ BBM) (10+2+3)/ Company Secretary/ Cost Accountant/ Chartered Accountant with sound accounting background. In case Science/ Arts students wish to pursue, then they will be enrolled for foundation course.
