Ralph Senior and Ralph Junior sat on the edge of their seats, watching the Cubs inch closer to the playoffs.

“Can you believe it, Dad?” Junior exclaimed. “We’re almost there!” Ralph Senior smiled, the excitement building.

Junior hurriedly packed the RV with all their Cubs gear—jerseys, hats, and flags.

“This time it’s different, Dad,” he said. “The Cubs are really going to do it.” Ralph Senior chuckled, nodding in agreement.

With the RV packed and their hearts full of hope, Ralph Senior and Junior hit the road, heading to the playoffs. The sky was clear, and the open road stretched ahead.

“We’ve waited so long for this moment,” Ralph Senior said.

They drove through city after city, the excitement growing with each mile. Cubs flags fluttered from the RV windows, and Ralph Junior honked the horn whenever they passed other Cubs fans on the road.

The RV finally arrived at the ballpark, where a sea of Cubs fans cheered. Ralph Senior and Junior were caught up in the energy, walking side by side as they approached the gates.

“We’re really here,” Ralph Junior said with awe.

They found their seats, surrounded by Cubs fans, their eyes glued to the field. The tension was palpable as the game began. Every pitch, every swing, felt like a step closer to their long- awaited dream.

The crowd erupted as the Cubs scored a crucial run. Ralph Junior jumped out of his seat, high- fiving his dad. “This could be it, Dad!” he shouted over the noise of the cheering fans. Ralph Senior grinned, sharing in the excitement.

As the final innings approached, Ralph Senior and Junior watched in nervous anticipation. The tension was almost unbearable, but they held on, knowing they were closer than they’d ever been.

When the final out was made, the Cubs had won the game, advancing further into the playoffs. Ralph Senior and Junior hugged, overcome with emotion. “We did it, Dad,” Ralph Junior said, tears in his eyes. “We’re almost there.”

As they left the ballpark, Ralph Junior waved a Cubs flag high above his head, celebrating with other fans. The energy was electric, and Ralph Senior watched his son with pride. “This is just the beginning,”

Ralph Senior said with a knowing smile.

Father and son walked back to the RV, still buzzing from the victory. They were closer than ever to their World Series dream, and the excitement of the playoffs filled the air as they planned their next trip.
