WHAT’S GOING ON:

Your Essential Guide to August on Martha’s Vineyard

Every summer, Martha’s Vineyard is transformed into a cultural destination with an explosion of activities for every interest and taste. This is the time when multigenerational families of color gather for reunions, entertainment, and public forums. Entertainers, corporate executives and politicians take their annual vacations here alongside artists, musicians and writers to showcase their work. If the Island’s magnificent beaches are the main attraction during the daytime, every evening is filled with live performances, films, lectures, concerts, art openings and social events. This is YOUR GUIDE to it all.

In this guide, we grouped weekly events from Saturday to Friday for easy review and planning. You will find information about many of the most stimulating events. Be sure to check the weekly calendar on the Vineyard Gazette for the most up-to-date listings: calendar.vineyardgazette.com.
