Every August, Martha’s Vineyard is transformed into a cultural destination with an explosion of activities for every interest and taste. This is the month when multigenerational families gather for reunions, corporate executives, entertainers and politicians take their annual vacations, and artists, musicians and writers showcase their works in progress. If the Island’s magnificent beaches are the main attraction during the daytime, every evening is filled with live performances, films, lectures, concerts, art openings and social events.
August on the Vineyard celebrates the wide variety of arts and cultural opportunities on the Island during the summer’s peak month. In the following pages, you will find information about many of the most stimulating events planned for August 2023. For a comprehensive daily calendar of events, be sure to check The Complete Martha’s Vineyard Calendar at eventsmv.com.
