The Selection cards contain 8 different cards that display different assortments based on the desired denomination but without visible prices, perfect for surprising the recipient in style. Product with the Low Environmental Impact*

At the heart of our operations lies a central question: Why should this product deserve a place in our memories? As importers, we take our responsibility seriously to only provide products that do not use our planet’s resources unfairly. It’s a complex challenge, given that the most environmentally friendly product is one that has not been manufactured at all. Our commitment is to maximise the use of recycled materials in our products and to carefully monitor the content of materials and chemicals. Our suppliers play a critical role in this, and our collaboration with them in the product development process is intense. The authenticity of the materials’ origin is equally crucial; we verify that the recycled materials we use are truly authentic. To reinforce our pursuit of authenticity and quality, we rely on specific product certifications. These help us guarantee the products’ origins and contents.

Among the certifications we rely on are OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 for textiles, FSC® for wood and paper, as well as Global Recycled Standard and Recycled Claim Standard for recycled materials. More detailed information about our certifications is presented on the following page.

Future plans*

We are committed to consistently driving our ESG engagement forward. As part of this year’s strategic focus, we plan to initiate a thorough review and improvement process of our external suppliers’ ESG responsibilities and performance. By implementing clear requirements and guidelines for their ESG efforts, we will promote sustainability, social responsibility, and good governance throughout our supply chain. This initiative will bolster our efforts to ensure that our partners and suppliers meet our high standards and assist us in further integrating ESG principles into our overall business strategy. By collaborating with our external stakeholders and promoting ESG excellence amongst our suppliers, we strive to achieve a holistic and long-term positive impact on society and the environment.

AMFORI-BSCI

Vinga is a member of Amfori (formerly BSCI), a European business partnership for companies that want to improve working conditions in the global supply chain. Amfori unites over 1300 companies around a common Code of Conduct , and these companies support each other in their aim of an ethical supply chain. The foundation of the system is the common Code of Conduct that all the companies have taken and implemented into their supply chains. The Code of Conduct is based on the UN Declaration of Human Rights, the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the International Labour Organisation’s core conventions, the ILO. Collaboration between our company and our suppliers allows us to help them build a more sustainable working environment.

QUALITY SYSTEM

The quality management system ISO 9001 helps us conduct efficient and structured quality work. With the help of the system, we establish guidelines for our work so that we actively work with continuous improvements and ensure the quality of our services and products.

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

In order to be able to identify and continuously reduce our environmental impact, we are certified according to ISO-14001. The standard provides support in, for example, reducing the use of energy and raw materials or the amount of waste and other emissions. The environmental goals in the system are currently linked to carbon dioxide emissions.

EMISSION CALCULATION AND ENVIRONMENTAL COMPENSATION

We have chosen to compensate for incoming and outgoing freight, air travel, car travel and energy consumption via various projects where we calculate our CO2 footprint. We have been doing this since 2018 and we have recently seen a reduction in emissions. This is mainly due to our active reduction in flights and air transport of goods. The measures taken to reduce emissions can be found in our Policy.

THE NATURE CONSERVATION ASSOCIATION

We believe that knowledge and interest in environmental issues is crucial in order to minimise our environmental impact, which is why we are a support company at the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation. In this way, we help to support projects in climate and environmental issues. The Swedish Society for Nature Conservation is Sweden’s largest and most influential environmental organisation, and as members here we contribute so that they can do their utmost to put environmental issues high on the agenda in Sweden and the EU. The information we receive also helps us to make decisions regarding what efforts we should make, how they should be made and that they do as much good as possible.

SOLAR CELLS

Vinga’s warehouse and office in Borås installed solar panels in 2019. These solar panels largely cover the consumption that the entire business has in its daily operation. Many of our gift cards are also printed on site in this building - they are printed with solar energy.

Products that might make a little more difference

AWARE™

Aware™ uses a physical tracer (ceramic) to verify and trace recycled material. Items can be scanned to identify the presence of the tracer. Using blockchain technology the journey of the recycled material and the scanning data is recorded and made available to customers and end users.

FSC®

The Forest Stewardship Council® is an international non-governmental organization that promotes environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically sustainable management of the world’s forests.

GRS

Products certified to the Global Recycled Standard contain recycled material that has been (independently) verified at each stage of the supply chain, from the source to the final product. In addition, facilities from the source to the final supplier have met social, environmental, and chemical requirements.

RCS

The Recycled Claim Standard verifies (the percentage of) recycled material and tracks it from the source to the final product. Products certified to the Recycled Claim Standard Blended (RCS Blended) contain between 5-94% certified recycled material.

OEKO-TEX® Standard 100

If a textile article carries the STANDARD 100 label, you can be certain that every component of this article has been tested for harmful substances and that the article therefore is harmless for human health. In many cases the STANDARD 100 goes beyond national and international requirements.
