The July meeting took place at the Clubrooms with 13 members present. Gary informed us of the upcoming A.G.M. and Executive meeting being held in Tauranga which he would represent the Club at.
Wednesday Run to Waihola and Milton area was reported on by Gaynor Falconer.
Entry forms for the Blossom Festival Rally 28 September – Central Otago Branch were received.
Clutha Rally 9th November was discussed. Committee met at the McCall’s residence to set things in motion.
Decision made not to hold a Moped Rally this year.
Following the business Neville King showed a portion of the 1994 2nd BP
Pan Pacific Rally from a tape of Robin Beningtons. We all enjoyed watching the vehicles, activities and routes taken on the Hub rallies etc.
26 Diners enjoyed an evening meal at the Two Fat Stags Restaurant on 2nd August. A good selection of food to choose from and much conversation took place as we mingled with each other.
The Wednesday Run to Lawrence was held on the 6th, being the 11th year Anniversary. The Prospector was the place for a Cuppa and chat and Gaynor once again shared some treats. The Tuapeka Goldfields Museum was open for those who wished to take advantage of their interesting collections on display.
V.C.C. Daffodil Rally for Cancer Sunday 25th August some events happening near us: - If you wish donations can be given to our Treasurer towards South Otago Branch contribution.
Gore – Join us for the Gore Rally, Sunday 25 August, Gore A&P grounds Gate 2 Assemble12.30 pm first car leaving 1pm. Mystery Tour $10 per Vehicle…Enter on the day…yellow theme. Open to all vehicles including modern Event Organiser Denis Knight 027 351 3190.
Otago – Join us for a Car Rally & Display Dunedin – Mosgiel. Car Rally starts at Forbury Park Raceway Carpark, from 1 pm. Instructions will bring you out to Wingatui Racecourse, Gladstone Road Mosgiel for Public Display from 1.30pm Dress up yourself/vehicle – theme of Daffodil Day/Cancer Society BBQ sausages and coffee cart available or BYO afternoon tea. $10 per vehicle Contact Marion McConachie for further details – bmmcconachie@xtra.co.nz or 027 338 7008.
Meeting Night – 27th Fish & Chip Tea Meal – BYO drinks you will need some cash for your food too please.
