Chairmans Chatter for Topical Torque Hello Folks Just a short Chater for this month. My computer has been hacked and I cannot access my computer unl Alexander gets it back to normal. Those darn bloody pricks over in Vietnam. However, we have some great events coming up with the Poters Paddock Gymkhana to be held on the 26th of November at the Dudley Road School Hall that member Kevin Fabish has organised for us to use. I am not able to atend this event, but I am sure others on the commitee and members will organise a great day for you all. New members Brian and Julie Evans have stepped forward and are going to organise our Sunday run on the 17th of December. This will start at the Inglewood Railway Staon and aer a litle run around with some quesons to answer we will all end up at the Fern Lodge Inglewood Hotel for a beauful roast meal and me for socializing. All details are elsewhere in this newsleter. Many thanks to Brian and Julie for organising this last run for us before Christmas. Our Maunga Moana Rally is now to be held on the 29th and 30th March 2024 at Easter Weekend. So, Keep this date free. Rob Thomson is the organiser for this rally which will be based in New Plymouth. The commitee decided aer the response from members at the last Noggin and Nater to change to this date as there were no other rallies at Easter weekend in the North Island. The Silent Aucon is progressing very well at the clubrooms so you should check it out as there may be a bargain waing for you. At this me of the year, we are geng requests for the annual Xmas parades in Bell Block, Waitara, New Plymouth, Inglewood and no doubt down in South Taranaki will all have parades. Please support them if you can. So, Keep the Passion ...........Christmas is coming..........Drive safely ...........Keep to the le........Enjoy your drive........ Chairman Colin.

BRANCH NEWS We are intending to run a Silent Auction over the next few months, for a collection of workshop items kindly donated to the Branch by long-time member Des Cornwall. These items will be on display at our clubrooms, so come along to our club nights and register your interest. All funds raised will be going towards the Branch. Thank you, Des, for your support, much appreciated.

SILENT AUCTION. The family of Des Cornwall, in finalising the disposal of his vehicle collecon, have, very generously, passed on to the Branch workshop tools, vehicle parts, vehicle manuals, and books with the suggeson they be sold with the proceeds being used to supplement the Branch Funds. The selecon of automove manuals will be retained for the Branch Library, with the other items being ‘put up for sale’. The Branch Commitee have decided a SILENT AUCTION will be held to dispose of a selecon of the items, the format of which will be: * To have all auction items on display for the next three Noggin and Natters, that is October, November, and December 2023. * All the items for auction will be numbered. * Bids are to be made on the chit supplied, with final bids to be made by 8.00pm of the evening of our December Noggin and Natter. Rob T, Secretary. We are also making a collection of Des’s books available to members to borrow for a gold coin. These will be on display on the side table in the clubrooms. If there are any that members would like to keep, they can make an appropriate donation to the Branch, see Rob Thomson, Secretary-Treasurer.

EDITORS REPORT

What a great day we had for this years Garden Tour on the last Sunday of October. Mike and Raewyn did us proud, a shame that Raewyn could not join us for the day. A dozen or so Branch members atended and we were joined by a half dozen or so from the Morris Minor club. The five gardens that we visited were great examples of the breadth and scope of gardening styles in Taranaki. Over the week of the Garden Fesval the weather was prety good and I am sure that all the visitors who came would have gone home sasfied. The fesval, with the addion of the Arts Trail now, is a great opportunity to showcase our province. Poters Paddock is coming up on the 26th, this is usually a great day out, see you there. We are rapidly approaching the Christmas season, dress up your car and you can have a lot of fun taking part, see dates and mes on following page. Thats all from me, have a safe and happy month, Jim Logan.
