Not much for me to report this month, as I chose the Sidecar National Rally in Nelson, instead of our Branch Run –sorry!
The National office has sent out to Branches the latest version of the new constitution incorporating feedback from Branches.
Committee members have been sent this document. This will be discussed (no doubt in great detail!) at the March Exec Meeting which clashes with our Branch Meeting.
If any members have points they wish to raise, they can obtain a copy of the document from Marg I, Naomi or a Committee member and pass on their comments to me or Tom for us to raise at the Exec Meeting.
The March run will be the Southern Captain's Run – details will be emailed to you, closer to the event.

Thanks to all of you who supported our Far North club Captains run on the 22nd Feb.
Many of you thanked us for the excellent drive which we appreciated. The native forests never cease to enthrall us all!
We managed to cover the run without a hitch. Warren had a spot of trouble, only due to flooding the motor but he was soon on his way.
As always, everyone enjoyed their meals at the Whangaroa Sports Fishing Club.
I’d like to welcome new members Kevin and Denise Dalbeth, who came along in their Mercedes for the run and are joining the club. We know they’re going to enjoy being part of our club.
As discussed at our last meeting, plans are underway for a 50th year celebration of our club's formation. The process to become a sub-branch of the Northland Branch began for our club when an inaugural meeting was held on the 23rd June 1975. This move was approved on the 19th of October 1975 and we were established as a Sub Branch of Northland on the 16th November, 1975.
In 1975 Gordon Matthews took on the President's position with Jim Hay accepting the position as Secretary and Tubby Dykins accepting the Treasurer’s position. And there it all began. We gained ‘independence’ as the Far North Branch on March 12, 1991.
Any members who would like to contribute ideas & help with the presentation of our clubrooms for this event, are most welcome to contact me.
Next, we have the Southern Club Captains run coming along in March, to
look forward to. Then it won’t be long and Easter will be around again!
Happy
motoring

Thinking of all who are dealing with things that are challenging and need lots of energy to work through. Hang in there.

A great gathering was enjoyed by many who ventured from home in good weather to Ka Uri for the food, conversation and the great selection of vehicles at the February Caffeine & Classics.
The day our members were enjoying the Northern Captain’s Run, Claude & I were striking it lucky with perfect weather in Manawatu.
We had a day out at the Manawatu Machinery Show held at Manfeild, in Feilding.
What an amazing display it was, with collections of all types of machines and machinery from the very old to some very modern, yet-to-be-sold exhibits… little point in us spending time dwelling on them because every gateway on our farm would need widening before any of them could be delivered safely!
Chatting with one of the Organisers he said they are a group of just 50-odd members who keep the show going, with of course a tight, small group, who are dedicated to the preservation of machinery. They can be proud of their efforts because they drew in the people and machines, on the day.
He did mention they had an entry from Kaitaia which had us thinking and later in the morning Claude recognized a couple vintage vehicles arriving.
Well done Jeff getting your special vehicles out and about for others to appreciate. They attracted plenty of interest in the time we were near them.
