As most of you will know we have a 1952 Prefect at the club rooms. I have been in touch with the Waimate Collage and there are about 6 students interested in working on it under supervision from club members. I have also been talking to the Principle at the Waihao Downs School and she is keen to send the older Children in to learn the basics of motoring. I donated the Prefect to the club for the purpose of helping the young people of Waimate learn about the working of cars. It has been agreed that the Club pay for parts etc with the hope of having a Club Car. I have agreed to buy back the car for what the club has spent on it if they have no further use for it, so I feel it is a win / win situation The Wallaby Rally is well on the way with entry forms and Rally Routes all done. Clubs have been sent entry forms by post or email. Anyone wanting forms can get them from the club rooms or myself. Next Year it is our turn to host the Garage Raids. We have a few ideas, but would like a few more, so if anyone has ideas or would like to make their garage available please let us know December meeting will be a Fish and Chip night, with maybe a few games or music after. The way we will work it is to come along and order and pay for meal and we will send a member to pick it up. Partners ,Wives etc welcome. Let’s have a good turnout for the last meeting of 2016. Don’t forget the Christmas Picnic Run 10 December 2016. I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Yours in Motoring Steve.

Wallaby Run Waimate

Seems to have been a fairly quiet month leading up to the chaos the end of year holidays tend to bring. Unfortunately I will miss all of December as I will be in Christchurch. On the bright side, at least I get out of cooking Christmas dinner, and washing all those pots and pans! My thoughts are with Owen and Lorraine as they cope with their dramas. Hopefully our end of year get together will be a success, and will be held wet or dry. There is a great clubroom, bar-b-que we can use and overnight camping no charge. We can look forward to Getting together again in the New Year. Wishing all of you a safe and happy holiday, and a healthy new year. Regards Suzanne

took my dad to the mall the other day to buy some new shoes (he is 76). We decided to grab a bite at the food court. I noticed he was watching a teenager sitting next to him. The teenager had spiked hair in all different colors - green, red, orange, and blue. My dad kept staring at her. The teenager kept looking and would find my dad staring every time. When the teenager had had enough, she sarcastically asked: "What's the matter old man, never done anything wild in your life?" Knowing my Dad, I quickly swallowed my food so that I would not choke on his response; I knew he would have a good one! In classic style he responded without batting an eyelid ....

"Got stoned once and had sex with a parrot. I was just wondering if you might be my kid."
