BRANCH BITS AND PIECES We have several members who are showing as UNFINANCIAL. If you wish to remain a member of the Club, please attend to your subscription. National Office will be closed from 23rd December to 9th January 2017. Please have any VIC applications into Julie by 15th December It was great to meet up with Claire and Bruce Benge from Wellington Branch at our last morning tea at Shantytown. They were driving a 1947 Ford Jailbar (truck) and had been to the Veteran & Commercial Rally at Nelson and having seen our morning tea advertised in the Beaded Wheels ,therefore decided to come along. We really enjoyed the company of visitors from another Branch, that’s what it is all about.

Last months run to Westport was another wet day for poor Colin but 33 members sat down to a lovely roast at the Westport Workingmen’s Club. On the way up we met up with Westport members, about 10 of them for a cuppa at the Charleston tearooms and it was decided, because of the weather to forgo the trip to check the seals out but after lunch, we enjoyed a wee excursion for a garage raid and to ogle Alan Brizzels toys. It turned out to be a “mainly modern run” but Doug & Trish Griffin were in the Vauxhall, Anne and Brent Newton with the Prefect did the trip with one minty moment and Robyn Williams’ Nissan Fairlady had all the ladies drooling.

Some interesting news – I have had contact with Ross Holden who is our new Communications & Marketing Officer and members can now read magazines from other Branches online. If you go to www.vcc.org.nz this takes you to the Home page. On the left side you will see a menu and at the bottom there is a link “New from our Branches”. Click on this and the Branch magazines will come up. Our last month’s newsletter is there in its current form but I will create a front page which will look better.

The Committee wishes all members a safe and happy Festive Season & every best wish for 2017
