1

Tear two square pieces of newsprint from an old book, one at approximately 1 & ½ inch and the other at 2 inch in size. Use the 1/8” hole punch on a Crop-A-Dile™ eyelet and snap punch tool to add a hole a ¼” from top of papers.

2

Place a 1/8” antiqued copper eyelet through the hole in paper.

3

Adjust the cube settings on the Crop-A-Dile to coordinate with the eyelet size. Insert the peg side of the tool through the eyelet and paper.

4

Squeeze firmly with the tool to lock the eyelet into place.

5

Place Melting Pot on a non-stick craft sheet. Level the back with lid. Turn to the UTEE setting. Use a spoon to pour clear UTEE inside the center of Melting Pot. Allow to melt and add more until you have approximately the same size of paper.

6

Use Chain Nose Pliers to carefully place the paper over the melted UTEE. Use pliers to push down on paper until back is completely covered with UTEE.

7

Use a spoon to pour UTEE over the paper, completely covering the surface. If there are bare sections along the edges, add a small amount and allow to re-melt.

8

Use Chain Nose Pliers to carefully grip the top right corner of paper. Hold paper upright to allow excess UTEE to drip off of corner.

9

Gently place paper onto the clean non-stick craft sheet beside Melting Pot to cool. Avoid handling for a minute to prevent fingerprints. Paper will have a completely transparent appearance allowing text to show through from other side.

10

Once paper has hardened, use a Metal Awl to carefully clear the eyelet hole of UTEE. You may use your fingers to break off small sections from corners or edges if drops of UTEE are visible. Repeat steps 2-10 to make a total of two paper embellishments.

11

Slide paper embellishments onto a 10mm jump ring in between a layer of natural brass & arte metal distressed and patina’d pieces.

12

Use two Chain Nose Pliers to close and secure jump ring to complete your altered journal style pendant.
