Patina & Stamped Bezel Tutorial

Shake bottles well. Dispense a small amount of clay, rust and cinnabar patina onto a non-stick craft sheet. Mix colors together with paint brush.

Use a flat tip paint brush to apply an even coat of patina mixture to the inside surface of the bezel using a dabbing motion. Clean your paint brush with water and dry with a paper towel.

If necessary, use a paper towel to remove any patina from the edge of the bezel while it is still wet. To add durability to the patina finish, heat the entire piece with a craft heat tool. Allow to completely cool before handling.

Ink a decorative rubber stamp with a jet black Archival ink pad.

Carefully place the desired area of your inked stamp over the bottom curve of the bezel.

Use a paper towel to remove any black ink from the edge of the bezel while it is still wet.

Archival ink is permanent, however to add durability to the inked image, heat the entire piece with a craft heat tool. Allow to completely cool before handling.

Apply jade patina to the catalpa leaf charm fastenable. Use the dark gray side of a Metal Reliefing Block to highlight the raised areas of all three charms.

Use Chain Nose Pliers to hold a 4.75mm jump ring while you string on a layer of charms; watchful bird, woodland leaf and the jade patina catalpa leaf charm fastenable.

Attach the jump ring with layered charms to the loop of the bezel. Use 2 Chain Nose Pliers to close and secure the jump ring. String pendant to a 15mm jump ring and attach to your beaded necklace.
