Le projet B4 vise l’amélioration qualitative et quantitative de l’accès aux soins de kinésithérapie et de réadaptation médicale en Afrique subsaharienne. Initié par l’APEFE en 1991, le projet B4 mobilise l’expertise nécessaire au renforcement : (1) des capacités institutionnelles du Ministère en charge de la Santé Publique, (2) du dispositif de formation pour accompagner la création de ressources humaines de qualité et (3) augmenter l’accessibilité et la capacité d’accueil des services nationaux de MPR
Dans chaque pays, le schéma de développement de la médecine physique réadaptation s’étale sur une vingtaine d’années en 4 étapes clés :

humaines de qualité (kinésithérapeutes et médecins spécialistes MPR) Création d’un centre de référence et d’une école de niveau universitaire Mise en place d’un réseau de service dans les hôpitaux et centres de soins Accompagnement à la formulation d’une Stratégie nationale de développement de la MPR
Les ministères en charge de la santé ont élaboré et validé des plans stratégiques de développement de la MPR dans laquelle le programme de l’APEFE s’intègre de façon cohérente. Ministries of Health designed and validated their national strategic plans for PMR development, in which APEFE’s program integrates consistently.

Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PMR) Development Program The B project aims at improving access to medical rehabilitation cares in sub-Saharan Africa, in a quantitative and qualitative way. 4
Initiated in Benin in 1991, the B projects is built on a real APEFE expertise, that aims at strengthening : (1) institutional capacities of Ministries of Health, (2) training capacities of Human Resources in the rehabilitation field and (3) treatment capacities in hospitals and rehabilitation centers.

Un réseau d’échanges Sud-Nord-Sud A South-NorthSouth Network Issus de la 1ère promotion béninoise, les enseignants de l’Ecole Supérieure de Kinésithérapie de Cotonou ont poursuivi leurs études en Belgique, à la Faculté des sciences de la motricité de l’Université Catholique de Louvain. Devenus à leur tour formateurs, ils enseigneront à l’Ecole Supérieure de Kinésithérapie de Bujumbura, en 2017 jusqu’à l’autonomie académique de leurs collègues burundais. Le même processus est appelé à se répéter au Burkina Faso. First students graduated from the School of Physiotherapy of Cotonou, the beninese teachers continued their studies in Belgium, at the Faculty of Movement Science at the Catholic University of Leuven. In turn trainers, they will teach at the School of Physiotherapie of Bujumbura until their colleagues reaches their academic autonomy. The same process is likely to be repeated in Burkina Faso.
