CHILI
COOKOFF
Photos by Leslie Bear Saturday, The Keller Williams Group hosted it’s 2nd Annual Chili Cookoff for KW Cares charity. Entering, you’d see a firetruck, snowballs, face painting, and some of the best chili at each of the booths all while listening to the curated music of a DJ. After tasting each chili, you’d vote on the best and all proceeds from the event go towards a wonderful Charity.

HOW WOULD YOU BEST DESCRIBE YOUR INDUSTRY?
A lot of people think of banks as places to simply open a savings or checking account or maybe as a place to get a loan. And while we certainly offer these services, there is much more to how we help people reach their financial goals. At Regions Bank, we pride ourselves on taking the time to listen to people’s unique needs and then delivering customized financial services that can help them reach their goals. We don’t believe in a one-sizefits-all approach. We think having a relationship with our customers – whether they’re individual consumers, families, or local businesses – helps us deliver greater value to the people we serve.
WHAT IS IT YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT THE NORTHSHORE COMMUNITY?
I love the NorthShore for many reasons! Since I am a mother of three, I would have to say that the amazing schools are tops on my list. Whether you choose to send your children to private or public schools, your children will receive a top-notch education. Second would be the great local shopping…I love to support our smallbusiness owners and their one-of-a-kind products. Lastly, I’m grateful for an exceptional social community with lots of local events and celebrations to enjoy life with friends and family!
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE A YOUNGER VERSION OF YOURSELF JUST STARTING OUT IN YOUR INDUSTRY?
I would tell my younger self that to be successful within all aspects of your life, you need to set goals for yourself. Know the community as well as your customers. And finally, believe in yourself and your company.

HOW WOULD YOU BEST DESCRIBE YOUR INDUSTRY?
The real estate industry is a driving force in shaping the towns and cities where we live, work, and play. If you think about our daily routines, real estate is a part of our everyday lives…It’s where we live; where we shop; where we eat; where we work; where we go to the doctor, dentist, hair salon…The list goes on and on. Consequently, real estate developments create jobs and generate sales tax and property tax revenues. The business of real estate also requires a lot of collaboration across professions: attorneys, architects, engineers, insurance agents, bankers, appraisers, contractors, and accountants.
WHAT SERVICES DO YOU PROVIDE FOR YOUR CLIENTS?
Stirling Properties is a full-service commercial real estate company specializing in commercial brokerage, development and redevelopment, investment sales, and asset and property management.
WHAT IS IT YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT YOUR INDUSTRY?
The best part of our industry is that each deal/property has its own set of unique circumstances. Each and every deal is like a puzzle, and you have to figure out how to put all the pieces together. As a result, there is no telling what each day will bring and which challenges we will face.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE A YOUNGER VERSION OF YOURSELF JUST STARTING OUT IN YOUR INDUSTRY?
Do not let the fear of failure hold you back. Some of the greatest lessons you will learn will be because of failure.
