THE H HOUSE, SURAT, INDIA
The house being sited in between a busy neighborhood, the owners of this home felt the common dilemma of a requirement of private living spaces surrounded by gardens. In order to create a luxurious and spacious home where the owner feels constantly connected to the outdoors, the design inverts the concept of a bungalow set in a garden by infusing gardens into the bungalow and encapsulating the natural green space within the house.
THE CUBE HOUSE, SURAT, INDIA
The massing composition of stone and exposed concrete perceiving attention through its geometry, showcasing a very powerful statement through its material palette. The architecture is an expression of materials in its raw form. Only 3 major materials were used for entire architecture and interior development, i.e. stone, wood, RCC.

PROGRAM & FUNCTIONALITY • •
We are aiming to show the history, diversity, creativity, resourcefulness and endurance of Canada’s First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. Our main goal in design of this cultural center is that to leave visitors with a better understanding of the diversity of First Peoples, of their past and continuing contributions to Canada and the world, and of their ancient bond and relationship to the land.
• Permanent Exhibitions Visitors will encounter ceremonial and everyday objects of the past, in addition to some of the oldest artifacts. Also discover ancient and contemporary interpretations of myths and other traditional ways of knowledge, as well as videos, art and vivid dioramas. • Temporary Exhibitions They will learn about the achievements of contemporary Aboriginal people in every aspect of Canadian society - as artists, athletes, writers, soldiers, teachers, political leaders and more.
• Market An outdoor market gives local artists an opportunity to present their art works ,related to history of Canada, to the public. • Library Visitors have a chance to have access to books and journals about indigenous culture and art. • Food Kiosks A place with a breathtaking view helps visitors to relax and enjoy their time. • Souvenir Shops Visitors can find the best and unique selections of Canadian Gifts.
TRADITIONAL BUILDING FORMS; A SOURCE OF INSPIRATION. •
Canada is witnessing a groundswell of interest in architecture that is more sensitive to Indigenous peoples, with both existing spaces and entirely new buildings.
•
This is not a straight-forward process, however, so these cultural depictions can range from reconstructions of traditional spaces, to contemporary designs that blend modern materials and traditional elements.
•
The main design ideology was derived whilst taking into consideration, about indigenous people’s culture, living style and the local architecture techniques. A very modern parametric skin of the building was designed inspired by the form of traditional “Tipi” and “Longhouse”.
