Academic Skills Development

Virginia Wesleyan offers students many opportunities to strengthen their academic skills. Academic departments and individual professors often assist students needing help with specific courses. Tutoring and other academic support services are also available through the Learning Center where experienced, qualified students may serve as peer tutors for academic credit. 301 Tutoring (1)

Upperclassmen with grades no lower than B in certain courses may participate in tutoring for credit. To earn one semester hour, students fulfill a 30-hour tutoring contract. Tutoring sessions are supervised by the Director of the Learning Center and approved by the instructor of the course tutored. Offered based on need for tutors.
