A variety of Anchorage bars and restaurants offer live music and performances highlighting talented local artists. Check out places like 49th State Brewing, The Broken Blender, Humpy's Great Alaskan Alehouse, and Matanuska Brewing Company.
ANCHORAGE MUSEUM – In the summer, the spacious front lawn of the Anchorage Museum becomes an outdoor stage for local musicians performing for Lunch on the Lawn, a free midday event combining live music, hands-on family activities, and tasty local lunch menus courtesy of Anchorage food trucks. When the snow flies, shows move inside: On the first Friday of every month, it’s not uncommon to find a stage set up in the museum atrium, or catch a folk band performing in an elevator.
PERATROVICH PARK – Nestled on a tree-lined corner of Fourth Avenue, cozy Peratrovich Park is home to Music in the Park –a free seasonal Wednesday concert series featuring solo and group acts from around the state. On Mondays, there’s Music for Little Ones –an interactive, pint-sized performance for the youngest music lovers in the group.
TOWN SQUARE PARK – In the center of downtown Anchorage, Town Square Park is the perfect venue for Live After Five, a Thursday evening concert series featuring free performances, a beer and wine garden, and an assortment of tantalizing Alaska treats to fill your belly.
