Homeporting in Barbados
Birthplace of a star
As we cruise into summer we all want to go to the beach! That’s always a perfect place to end a tour of our lovely island but let’s start at the beginning. This edition takes us back in time with wonderful reflections of our history and heritage. Booking a tour with an informative guide can give you snapshots of our most well-preserved buildings and properties, like plantation homes and botanical gardens; a taste of our local cuisine, from rum shops to restaurants; and of course, an immersive introduction to island life with the locals. We got up close with three of our island’s heritage guardians to share their unique recommendations for fully enjoying historical Barbados in a few hours. And if you’re homeporting with us from a Silversea Cruiseline, you’ll have even more time to enjoy more historic experiences. So put on your history caps – let’s cruise inside Barbados!
