A LegenDerry Welcome
Welcome to Derry~Londonderry!
Located in the stunning North West of Ireland, this charming city is renowned as one of the finest 17th Century Walled cities in Europe, full of fascinating culture. This vibrant destination offers an opportunity to step back in time and enjoy a city that is youthful, vibrant and rich in its history both ancient and living. You are invited to be part of our incredible story at the most exciting time in our history.
The city has enjoyed some phenomenal successes in recent years. In 2013 Derry was named as the inaugural UK City of Culture, a prestigious status which showcased our outstanding cultural heritage, celebrated our shared history and journey to peace and captured the spirit of the destination - a small city packed with charisma and personality.
WelcomeDerry’s compact size creates a natural Conference Village framed by the 17th Century City Walls, all easily accessible by foot. From contemporary venues and residential properties, to historic buildings and quirky spaces there is something to suit every requirement, and with day delegates starting at less than £35.00 we guarantee value for money without compromising on quality.
The social aspects of a conference are just as valuable as the academic content where, after a busy conference, delegates can kick back, relax and network with their industry colleagues. People buy from people and we place a real emphasis on creating an atmosphere to inspire those connections.
As the saying goes, eat, drink and be merry – here you can enjoy the finest locally sourced produce including ‘from pier to plate’ fresh seafood from neighbouring County Donegal. Keeping it local is important to us and we love to include locally produced beverages such as Walled City Brewery and Northbound craft beers or award winning ‘The Quiet Man’ whiskey to help you create standout menus!
Named by Lonely Planet as a ‘Top 10 City in the World’ and winner of the inaugural ‘UK City of Culture 2013’, we are a city of international excellence, inspired locally, and we guarantee a #LegenDerry experience!
Derry’s unique heritage allows us to continually develop and theme new product content. The team at Visit Derry will work in close partnership with you to create authentic, memorable and exclusive programmes and really ensure a ‘LegenDerry’ experience for your clients! A guided tour of the 17th Century Walled city is our top attraction and we can further enhance by adding animated characters and period re-enactments to really offer a living history experience.
We know our destination inside out and have placed a real focus on creating ‘experiential’ itineraries - why just listen to a ‘trad’ Irish music session when you can pick up a ‘bodhran’ (Irish drum) and play?
Don’t just drink an Irish coffee while you’re here; learn the skilful art of pouring so you can master it at home! Delegates can also check out living history at the Ulster American Folk Park, have an exclusive lunch with a Duke & Duchess, try afternoon tea in a 5* Irish castle or adrenaline pumping team building experiences including treetop safaris and zorbing. Cult HBO series Game of Thrones was filmed across Northern Ireland’s spectacular landscapes and guided tours of key locations depart regularly from the city.
Our idyllic position linking the Causeway Coastal Route with the award winning Wild Atlantic Way offers an opportunity to create WOW factor programmes for incentive groups and less than a 1 hour transfer takes you the UNESCO World Heritage Site the Giant’s Causeway and Bushmills Whiskey Distillery, the oldest licenced distillery in the world!
To the West of the city, delegates can marvel at the stunning natural beauty of Co. Donegal, home to fabulous attractions such Glenveagh National Park and Doagh Famine Village not to mention some of the best links golf courses in Europe and gateway to the spectacular ‘Wild Atlantic Way’ - the longest defined coastal touring route in the world!

The feedback we received has been excellent with many delegates commenting on the wonderful time they had in the city. They commented on the welcome they received, how friendly the people were and the high quality of the customer service that they received. I have spoken to delegates who had stayed after the conference and they thoroughly enjoyed their extended stay. Thank you again for all your help in making the conference a success.
& Irish Masters Association Committee
Our event was an absolutely fantastic one. A huge success from start to finish. So many fantastic comments; outstanding, the best ever in the 30 years that the event has been running, Derry may be equalled but will never be surpassed, memorable… Everyone commented on the great welcome and the great friendliness. The food was delicious, the best in recent years, and the place was buzzing with a brilliant atmosphere. Many delegates said they would definitely be returning and it’s already been mentioned about being hosted in Derry again!

From the planning stages right through to the event itself , Visit Derry’s help and assistance was greatly appreciated, it was invaluable to have someone on hand locally to offer advice and direction. The conference went extremely well, and the feedback has been very positive from those familiar with the city and those visiting for the first time.
The service and attention to detail provided by the venues and local businesses used was very impressive. The gala dinner in the Guildhall was a tremendous success, the uniqueness of the venue and the catering combining to deliver a very memorable evening for all. I am delighted to say the meeting was one of, if not the most successful conferences held to date.
