Fishing is permitted at many parks with water features in Hamilton County, as well as the White River. Visitors should obtain proper licenses and know the local regulations before casting a line.

The White River spans more than 25 miles in Hamilton County, through Carmel, Fishers and Noblesville. Canoe, kayak or tube with White River Canoe Company and enjoy scenic walks along the river in nearby parks.

MONON TRAIL

The Monon Trail is a rails-totrails paved path spanning through central Indiana, connecting to downtown Indianapolis and the Indianapolis Cultural Trail.

In Hamilton County, the Monon begins at the 96th Street trailhead in Carmel and stretches more than 20 miles north through Westfield to the town of Sheridan.

This premier outdoor amenity is perfect for biking, walking and running. On any given day, you’ll see families with strollers, dogs on leashes, hardcore cyclists and runners or people simply exploring the area.

I n Carmel, the Monon Trail winds past must-see parks like Central Park near the Monon Community Center and through the downtown districts, including City Center, Midtown and the Arts & Design District. This state-of-the-art venue has a seating capacity of 7,500, designed to host a variety of events from sports to concerts. It is home to the Indy Fuel hockey team, the Indy Ignite professional volleyball team and the Fishers Freight indoor football team. NICKEL PLATE TRAIL

This 5-mile paved path that runs from 96th Street to 146th Street offers a scenic route for walking and biking. Highlights include a pedestrian tunnel beneath 116th Street, swings just north of the tunnel and

the Blazing the Trail mural, which features local landmarks and hidden butterflies. The trail connects to downtown Fishers for easy access to dining and shopping.

CONNER PRAIRIE

With 1,000 acres for curiosity to run wild, Conner Prairie’s nationally acclaimed living history museum offers excitement at every turn. Explore the outdoors and immerse your family in a historic, interactive world of science, art and nature while making some history of your own. Don’t miss beloved annual events like Headless Horseman and A Merry Prairie Holiday. The popular summer music series, Symphony on the Prairie, features classical symphony to rock and roll classics.

Promised Land as Proving Ground covers centuries of African American history in Indiana from pre-colonial Africa to the present day. The exhibit explores the development of

African American faith ways and their true expression through food, music, dance and activism from traditional African religion to the African American church.

Topgolf Fishers is a premier golf entertainment complex where you can challenge your friends and family to addictive, point-scoring golf games. Picture a 240-yard outfield with dartboard-like targets in the ground. The closer to the center or “bull’s-eye” you get and the farther out you hit your microchipped balls, the more points you receive.

MIDLAND TRAIL

Bring your bike or your walking shoes to Westfield to explore the local trail system. The popular Midland Trace Trail, which follows the abandoned Central Indiana Railway corridor from Westfield to the White River in Noblesville, paralleling State Road 32. It passes through scenic woodlands and open fields, crosses two historic railroad

trestles and provides access to Grand Junction Plaza and dining along Park Street. It connects with the Monon Trail that runs north to Sheridan and south to Carmel. The pedestrian bridge over State Road 32 makes it easier—and safer—for trail users to bike or walk through downtown Westfield up to Grand Park.
