WESTFIELD’S RISE to prominence as a youth sports capital has been a home run for the sports complex that welcomes thousands of athletes and families

“If you’re in the mood for BBQ, try Big Hoffa’s Smokehouse in Westfield. While we were waiting to pick up our food, the kids enjoyed taking pictures with the fun mural on the entire wall. They love their pirates! Big portions, delicious food, another thumbs up!”

year-round, as well as the community. You’re bound to hear the cheers and shouts of teams competing for glory

at Grand Park—it’s a massive, 400-acre sports campus, after all. But perhaps the best Cinderella story isn’t found on the field or the court, but in a city celebrated as an up-andcoming culinary destination attracting foodies far and wide. Within a mile radius, you can savor mouthwatering barbecue, exquisite sushi, homemade ice cream, craft cocktails and more. Sports and food are a classic pairing, but Westfield is elevating both to new heights and knocking it out of the park.

GRAND PARK SPORTS CAMPUS

Grand Park is a destination like no other. The thoughtfully designed 400-acre campus offers a field for almost any sport, including 31 multi-purpose fields and 26 baseball/softball diamonds. Plus, there’s Grand Park Events Center, a 300,000-squarefoot event space with three full-sized indoor soccer fields and a mezzanine concourse for spectator viewing. Not to mention ProX Athlete Development and the Pacers

Athletic Center with eight basketball courts, one of which is NBA regulation.

Beyond the turf, Grand Park also features an abundance of green space and more than 10 miles of pedestrian/bicycle trails, including the largest trailhead on the Monon Trail corridor. Grand Park has been host to youth baseball, softball and soccer championships all the way up to NCAA Division I and Olympic level

national championships. The Indianapolis Colts host their annual training camp at Grand Park for three weeks in July and Aug.. Fans can see their favorite players and enjoy a brand new fan experience.

TRAILS

Bring your bike or your walking shoes to Westfield to explore the local trail system. The popular Monon Trail connects Westfield to the northern town of Sheridan and the city of Carmel to the south. The pedestrian bridge over State Road 32 makes it easier—and safer—for trail users to bike or walk through downtown Westfield up to Grand Park. There’s also the adjacent

Midland Trace Trail, which follows the abandoned Central Indiana Railway corridor from Westfield to the White River in Noblesville, paralleling State Road 32. It passes through scenic woodlands and open fields, crosses two historic railroad trestles, and links neighborhoods, schools and parks in both Noblesville and Westfield.

DINING

As Westfield continues to grow, so does the restaurant scene. Enjoy a sit-down meal along Westfield’s “Restaurant Row,” a local term for the collection of restaurants tucked away on Park Street, just south of downtown Westfield. No matter what your taste buds crave, Westfield eateries will satisfy

your appetite. If you’re visiting Grand Park and need to grab a quick bite to eat in between games, find hearty burger and BBQ joints nearby to fuel up for the next tournament. Adults can enjoy a hand-crafted brew at a local brewery or a wine slushie at a nearby winery.

GRAND JUNCTION PLAZA

Discover Grand Junction Plaza, consisting of several unique and accessible areas, including an amphitheater and gathering place for festivals, concerts and special events, a café, a jet fountain, an ice-skating

rink (winter) and a oneof-a-kind playground and nature area for recreation and relaxation.

FAMILY FUN

Many families visit Westfield for sports tournaments at Grand Park or the Pacers Athletic Center, and there are plenty of family-friendly activities to enjoy nearby. Test your puttputt game at Birdies, a local 36-hole miniature golf course with an on-site restaurant. Bike or walk along the Monon Trail or Midland Trace Trail to stretch your legs and get some fresh air. Or visit nearby parks like MacGregor Park, perfect for hiking and spotting wildlife, and Cool Creek Park, complete with an educational nature center and winding trails through the woods.
