If approaching from Whitwell along Gills Cliff Road, turn right at the traffic lights into Castle Road. Turn left at the Tjunction at the bottom and Ventnor Park will be found on the right-hand side
Award-winning Ventnor Park is a beautiful and tranquil place with many attractive features. The flowerbeds are particularly colourful during the summer months
A stream crosses the length of the park - tumbling over miniature waterfalls and skirting stepping stones. Koi carp, moorhens, ducks and ducklings are often seen in the small, narrow pond Wide tarmac paths provide access to all areas for pedestrians, buggies and wheelchairs The park has an attractive bandstand from which musicians play at weekends during the summer months
From Ventnor Town Centre turn left at the traffic lights and head west towards St. Lawrence. Ventnor Park is less than half-a-mile from the town centre, on the left-hand side of Park Avenue On foot from La Falaise car park, first follow the coastal path west towards Steephill Cove. Bear right at each fork and climb steps to the rear gate This is no ordinary park. It is maintained by a dedicated team who take pride in their work - and it shows. Sheltered from the sea breeze by higher cliffs, the park offers a choice between sunshine and shade
The park provides access to a wellequipped, free-of-charge outdoor gymnasium Refreshments and light meals are available at the kiosk next to the adjacent putting green

A HIDDEN GEM If you are visiting Ventnor and haven’t seen the park then you are missing a treat. The flowerbeds are simply stunning and the whole park is beautifully maintained by the Town Council. The park is tucked away in a sheltered spot between the sea cliffs and south-facing slopes of The Undercliff. Relax on a park bench with a cup of tea from the kiosk and admire your beautiful surroundings
The park is tastefully illuminated by bollard lighting and green floodlights in the evening Mallard ducks have chosen the park as their home and are in abundance The Victorian bandstand once stood at the end of Ventnor pier and is the source of live music on Sunday and Bank Holiday afternoons Run England have marked a 1km jogging route around the park. Outdoor circuit training can be enjoyed in the open air gymnasium The adjacent putting green provides a leisure activity for those who are less active
