Tolkien Trail

Walk in the footsteps of author J.R.R. Tolkien as you explore the beautiful surroundings that inspired him when writing The Lord of the Rings. This fiveand-a-half-mile walk is great for those looking for a longer walk during the festive season.

Singing Ringing Tree

The Singing Ringing Tree is one of the four Panopticon’s and is located on Crown Point above the town of Burnley. With spectacular views across the town and beyond, it’s no wonder this walk is a popular route with visitors in Lancashire. Listen carefully when the wind blows, and you will hear it sing!

Beacon Fell Country Park

The Beacon Fell walk offers spectacular views of the Forest of Bowland and Morecambe Bay. On a clear day it is even possible to see the Isle of Man! This frosty forest walk, which recently has been awarded Green Statement, is a perfect route for that Christmas walk tradition.

Halo

Situated in the hills above Haslingden in the beautiful Rossendale Valley, The Halo is clearly visible for miles around. The 18m-diameter steel lattice structure hovers above the town, overlooking Pennine Lancashire and beyond. If you are passing after dark, look into the sky and you will notice the Halo lit up in a sky-blue colour.

Healey Dell Nature Reserve is the perfect place for all wildlife lovers as this beauty spot is a wildlife sanctuary rich in industrial archaeology. Follow the River Spodden through the woodlands as you explore the delightful scenery, spectacular waterfalls, and magnificent views.
