Allocated to Diving Activities The Malta Tourism Authority is committed to support Scuba Diving Tourism in the Maltese Islands. This scheme incentivises visitors to experience the Maltese Islands’ clear blue Mediterranean sea as an ideal location for scuba diving activities with an abundance of reefs, caves and wrecks that make diving here some of the most interesting in the Mediterranean.
01. Introduction This scheme offers a contribution towards tourists visiting the Maltese Islands for scuba diving activities in 2021. 1.1. Duration of the Scheme The scheme incentivises tourists to partake in a number of activities relating to diving. These shall take place from June 2021 until funds are available. 1.2. Designated Authority This scheme is administered by the Malta Tourism Authority. 1.3. Budget This scheme has a total budget of €750,000 allocated to diving activities.
02. Terms & Conditions 2.1. The diving tourist needs to apply online on bit.ly/divingscheme 2.2. The visitor will be required to adhere to the regulations set by the Superintendent of Public Health and the Health Authorities at the time of the application submission. The applicant would be required to present any necessary documentation which shall include a photo of the airline ticket and identification document. 2.3. Unutilised funds cannot be carried forward to subsequent year (i.e. 2022). 2.4. There are no restrictions to the visitor’s country of origin as long as not residing in Malta. 2.5. The €100 voucher has to be redeemed at one diving center, at one go. 2.6. Vouchers are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash.

03. Application Stage
3.1. Tourists need to apply via the google form bit.ly/divingscheme 3.2. MTA will process the application received. Once the application has been vetted, a €100 voucher will be sent to the applicant by email. 3.3 The voucher can only be redeemed at a licensed diving centre. A list of licensed diving centres can be found on visitmalta.com/en/dive-centres 3.4 There shall be no cash refunds on any unitilised amounts.
04. Claim Submission 4.1. Only claims which are complete and that include all relevant supporting documents will be evaluated by the Malta Tourism Authority. 4.2. Funding will be provided on a first come first serve basis. 4.3. The above scheme is independent from any other support being provided by the Malta Tourism Authority throughout 2021.
