Opened in 1892, the zoo features more than 2,200 animals across 330 species from every corner the globe. Big Cat Country roars with the royalty of the Saharan African plains. At the Primates of the World exhibit, monkey around with howler monkeys, baboons, and spider monkeys. Explore the zoo’s outer reaches at the Otter Passage and witness the furry critters splash and play their way around the exhibit. Smile and wave to the well-dressed penguins as they fly through the water and waddle along the shore. Slither into the Aquatic and Reptile Center to learn about all your favorite aquatic, amphibious, and scaley friends. Hippo Haven? More like hippo heaven! Make a splash with lots of hippopotamuses at the recently renovated exhibit. And reach for the sky with the graceful, long-necked giraffes at the Giraffe Experience and meet one of the zoo’s newest additions, Asante. For a new view of the zoo, choo-choo around the grounds on the Safari Train or fly high on the Sky Safari for a bird’s eye perspective of your favorite animals.
