In May 1949, C.S.Lewis sent his God Daughter Lucy the manuscript of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, with a letter:
My Dear Lucy, I wrote this story for you, but when I began it I had not realised that girls grow quicker than books. As a result you are already too old for fairy tales, and by the time it is printed and bound you will be older still. But some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again. Y ou can then take it down from some upper shelf, dust it, and tell me what you think of it. I shall probably be too deaf to hear, and too old to understand a word you say, but I shall still be your affectionate Godfather, C. S. Lewis

NARNIA TREASURE TRAIL
H
After meeting the children at the Stone Table, Aslan rescued Edmund from the White Witch. He then met with the White Witch that night.
Many years ago, four brave children, Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter stepped inside a magical wardrobe and discovered a strange land with many fascinating creatures.
Find the laws of Narnia carved on the stone table. Draw some of the symbols here:
Are you ready today to go on a magical journey through the wardrobe to Narnia? If you feel brave, follow the map to discover the story and characters hidden in the forest. Answer all the questions and complete the tasks. You must be very brave and watchful as the White Witch may be about and she can make it snow or even turn you into stone! Respect, Protect and Enjoy
Follow the path down the hill and turn right towards the maze.
I
Walk up the hill and carefully across the road. Follow the path through the forest to find Aslan. The next morning the Witch was gone. Aslan had tricked her and then freed all Narnians she had turned to stone. Aslan thanked the children for their help.
Please take care along the paths and in the forest. Wear suitable clothing and footwear. Only take with you memories and leave only your footprints!
Why not play a game of ‘Statues’ and see who can get to Aslan first without the ‘Witch’ seeing you move? I can see

If you are ready to begin your journey, start outside the wardrobe.

Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy were sent to live in the country with Professor Kirke during World War II. During a game of hide and seek, Lucy, the youngest, discovered a magical wardrobe. She stepped inside and found herself in a strange, snowy wood.
When all four children visited Narnia, Mr Beaver brought them safely to his home where he told them about Aslan. They all decided to meet Aslan at the Stone Table but Edmund went to see the White Witch. Along their journey the enchanted winter snow started to melt.
Before you dare to step through the wardrobe door, stop and look! Trace your fingers around the tree carved into the wardrobe.

Turn right to find Mr Beaver’s house. Give him a big ‘thank-you’ for helping keep the children safe from the White Witch!
