Warrenpoint
1 Narrow Water Tower House
Built in 1570, it replaced a Norman castle on the site.
A century later it was bought by Francis Hall, who built the family home, Mount Hall, opposite. It is open for tours in summer.
2 Clonallon Church
This beautiful church is built on the site of a monastery founded by St Conall, later bishop of Coleraine, in the sixth century. His successor here was St Dallan.
3 Clonallon Rath
A three banked rath, dating from about 400AD, it was probably the home of an important local farmer.
4 The Coronation Stone
It is said that each new chief of the Magennis clan was crowned on this stone, which legend claims came here with the original inhabitants of Ireland. It is preserved in its original state.
5 The Docks
Built by the Hall family in the early nineteenth century to export and import goods, many ships sailed from here during the Great Famine of the 1840s. A plaque here commemorates the thousands of emigrants who passed through the port in search of a new beginning.
6 Windmill
Though no longer visible to visitors, the base of this 1802 windmill that once towered 20 metres into the air still remains. It was built to grind corn and wheat from local farms.
7 St Peters Roman Catholic Church
Built between 1830 and 1840, it was designed in the Gothic style by the famous Newry architect Thomas Duff.
8 Parish Church
Local landlords, the Hall family, donated the site on which the church was built in 1827.
9 Warrenpoint Park
Opened in 1907, the park became famous for the summer concerts at its beautiful bandstand. This was restored to its original glory as part of a £1 million restoration, largely funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, which also created an interpretation centre at the park’s Pavilion (open 7 days, 10am-4pm). There is a play area and tennis courts too.
10 Warrenpoint Golf Course
Established in 1893, Warrenpoint Golf Club is an 18-Hole parkland course with a restaurant and bar.

11 The Elk
Created by Claire Bigger, this 10ft stainless steel sculpture stands on the Newry Road roundabout approaching Warrenpoint.
12 Donaghaguy Lake
This 1.2 acre trout factory is situated on the outskirts of Warrenpoint. A shallow spring fed reservoir, it is stocked monthly with trout.
13 Kelly’s Golf Centre
Two miles outside Warrenpoint, this facility has all the latest golfing technology as well as a nine-hole pitch and putt course and a driving range.
