Namsskogan
Namsskogan is situated in the northern part of Namdalen, with a branch stretching into Børgefjell National Park. Here you are met by a varied wilderness consisting of deep valleys, wooded hillsides, and high mountain ranges. In Namsskogan experiences in nature are easily accessible from forest roads and trails. Enjoy wild nature, fishing in hundreds of lakes or walk along marked trails.
About half of the wilderness areas are on stateowned ground. In these areas the local mountain authority administers hunting rights and fishing licenses. The mountain authority also have several rental cabins and shelters, offering you fantastic starting points for memorable hunting and outdoor experiences. In Namsskogan you can visit Namsskogan Wildlife Park and one of only three national «Visitor Centre Carnivore». In the wildlife park you will find Norway’s largest collection of Nordic animals with more than 30 species, among them wolverine, lynx, wolves, and bears who live in large and natural enclosures. The zipline, climbing park and close encounters with farm animals create large smiles on visitors faces. In the winter there are ski trails and recreational tracks for snowmobiles all over Namsskogan.

SKOROVAS - THE MINING VILLAGE IN THE MOUNTAINS
Skorovas (Skorovatn) is an old mining village in the mountains, 450 masl. The mine was shut down in 1984 after decades in operation. Today only a few dozen people live in the little village. One of the residents is Inge Staldvik, owner of Skjenkestova pub. He has more than 500 types of beer from all over the world in stock, and hundreds of different aquavits. Inge grew up in Skorovas and worked in the mine when it was still running. He is happy to tell visitors all about local history and life in the mountains. There is a glamping dome in Skorovas, with excellent mountain views.
