Closer

Many people tell us they have travelled through Northumberland but didn’t realise what they were missing. The main A1 road runs the length of the county, making many of our major attractions a quick and easy detour, and the A69 runs cross country, roughly following the route of Hadrian’s Wall.

than you

think

You can access Northumberland in as little as 3 hours on the train from London, and for those coming from further afield, Newcastle International Airport and the Port of Tyne make travelling by air or sea a realistic option. With coastline, countryside, history and heritage all in one county, and easy access to nearby cities Newcastle and Durham, Northumberland really is the ideal group destination.

Northumberland is located in the far North East of England, bordering with Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Durham, Cumbria and Scotland.
