ABOUT OKC
Visitors to OKC have a convenient new way to move around downtown. The Oklahoma City Streetcar, with beautiful green, blue and pink cars, connect visitors to hotels, dining and attractions throughout Downtown, Bricktown, Automobile Alley and Midtown. Seven cars run on two loops, with varying schedules six days a week. With 22 platforms on the 4.7mile loop, passengers only need to walk a couple blocks to find a platform. Day passes are available on each platform for $3, or single-use tickets are available for one dollar. You can also purchase tickets by using EMBARK’s mobile fare app. For those driving into the urban core, parking close to the streetcar route can be found at parkingokc.com. On Friday and Saturday, Bricktown has a dedicated loop that runs from the Myriad Gardens to East Bricktown every 15 minutes from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. along Reno Ave. and Sheridan Ave. The Downtown loop overlaps the Bricktown loop, and service along the Downtown loop begins at 6 a.m.
Monday through Friday, making it convenient to get to morning business meetings. Streetcars arrive at the Downtown platforms every 12-14 minutes. Here’s a quick guide to what you’ll find along the streetcar route.
THE BRICKTOWN PLATFORMS (1-3, 21 - 2 2 ) The Bricktown loop consists of nine platforms, with platform 1 in East Bricktown. That’s where you’ll find Bass Pro Shops, Toby Keith’s “I Love This Bar” & Grill, Charleston’s and the Criterion, a 4,000-capacity venue for concerts. It also provides easy access to the historic Deep Deuce District, once home to OKC’s jazz scene. Platform 2 is adjacent to the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, where you can catch an Oklahoma City Dodgers game in season. The Dodgers are the AAA-affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Bricktown Canal, with its mix of family entertainment and restaurants, is also close, as is the plaza around Harkins Theaters. Catch a movie, eat tacos at Fuzzy’s, cross the bridge for barbecue at Earl’s or just stroll the canal. Just a little north of
the plaza is Mickey Mantle’s Steakhouse, one of the metro’s outstanding prime steakhouses. Number 3 is part of the transit network; it’s a stop right by the Santa Fe rail depot, but it’s also close to Pinkitzel, one of OKC’s most popular candy shops. Pinkitzel carries a wild and colorful selection of candies, cupcakes, macarons and chocolates. On the Sheridan Avenue side of Bricktown are platforms 21 and 22. This is the traditional entrance to Bricktown, and it’s an excellent introduction to what’s in store for the visitor. Beautiful murals adorn the underpass, and restaurants and shops line both sides of Sheridan. Here you’ll find Painted Door gift boutique, with a great selection of Oklahoma products, decorative accessories, home furnishings, gourmet foods, bath and body care, fragrant candles, children's clothing and accessories, as well as ladies jewelry, handbags and apparel. Right across the street is Tapwerks, the craft beer pioneer in Oklahoma City. This old school pub has delicious pub fare and 100 taps, including a stellar selection of local beers.

ABOUT OKC
THE THUNDER PLATFORMS (4-6, 20) That’s not really the name, but platform 4 is sure to be one of the busiest on the loop, as it’s situated right in front of Chesapeake Energy Arena, home to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Number 5 is the southernmost platform, and as the new convention center, Omni Hotel and Scissortail Park get closer to completion, the traffic to this hub will increase, too. Number 6 is the Myriad Gardens platform, which is a popular yearround destination. The gardens are a 15-acre botanical retreat for guests in the middle of the city. The landscaping is changed seasonally for maximum greenery and blossoms, and the Crystal Bridge tropical conservatory is home to more than 700 species of plants. In the winter, the splash pad next to the restaurant is converted into an ice skating rink. The Century Center at platform 20 is home to Mahogany Prime Steakhouse and Café 7, the former a popular fine dining establishment with great preand post-game bar crowds, and the latter a family-friendly bistro with meals all priced around seven dollars. Directly across the street is the Colcord Hotel, OKC’s first skyscraper, built in 1909. Flint, an excellent brunch spot, is on the ground floor.
6
WWW.VISITOKC.COM
Down a short causeway is the entrance to the Devon Tower, with Vast, a topof-the-city fine dining restaurant, on the 49th floor. Vast also has a cocktail lounge and bar if you just want drinks with a view.
THE BUSINESS DISTRICT PLATFORMS ( 7 - 9 , 18 - 19 ) Number 7 is adjacent to the beautiful downtown library, but it’s also a short walk to important business destinations. Just west of the platform is Hightower Park, a lovely pocket park next to the Oklahoma City Museum of Art. The museum is home year round to the beautiful glass artwork of Dale Chihuly, and visitors can find portions of the museum’s permanent collection on floors two and three. The Civic Center is one more block west, just across Bicentennial Park, another urban pocket park. One block north is Patrono, some of the best Italian food available in Oklahoma City.
Platform 8 is the connector for access to EMBARK’s bus routes. The platform is on the edge of Midtown, just a short two blocks from Elemental Coffee and Tamashii Ramen. Both nine and eighteen are located adjacent to the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum, one of our state’s most revered and meaningful destinations. Tour the museum, walk the grounds, view the interactive screens, and see how our beautiful city responded to tragedy with spirit and strength. Platform 19 is near Kerr Park, the Skirvin Hotel, Leadership Square, Sandridge Energy and Continental Resources. It’s also a short walk from Kitchen 324, one of the city’s most popular brunch restaurants. With full coffee service, freshly baked pastries, and tantalizing entrees for omnivores and vegetarians, 324 is a beautiful downtown hotspot. Yes, they have a full bar.
THE AUTOMOBILE ALLEY PLATFORMS ( 1 0 - 12 ) Situated on historic Automobile Alley on N. Broadway Ave., these three platforms are convenient to Hideaway Pizza, Red Primesteak, Yuzo Sushi, Sidecar Bar, and one of the city’s best wine shops, Broadway Wine Merchants.
ABOUT OKC
THE MIDTOWN P L A T F O R M S ( 13 - 16 ) Other than the Bricktown platforms, the Midtown leg has the most dining and entertainment options. Fine dining at Café Cuvee in the Ambassador Hotel is our city’s version of approachable French cuisine. After dinner, pop up to the O Bar and get a craft cocktail with a view of the downtown skyline from the rooftop balcony. McNellie’s Pub is just off the number 14 platform. The popular beer mecca has 300 selections and a solid menu of pub food, burgers and entrees. For shopping, number 14 also drops you close to Black Scintilla boutique, Chirps & Cheers, Barkeep, and several other shops and boutiques. There is sushi at GoGo Sushi, Korean at Gogi Go and Brazilian food (including brunch!) at Café do Brasil. Popular indie bookstore Commonplace and its adjacent café are at the north edge of Midtown, too.

A crowd pleaser all around, Anchor Down dishes up the best corn dogs you’ve ever had paired up nicely with their craft beer and cocktail menu, for the adults of course. SPORTS
It’s safe to say Oklahoma City is Thunder-struck. Playing to sell-out crowds, this team’s popularity is skyrocketing both locally and nationally. Want to get in on the Thunder action? Here’s your guide for how to Thunder Up in OKC.
GAME ON If you’re heading to the game, you’ll want to give yourself a couple of hours to get downtown, park, grab a bite to eat and find your seats before tipoff. Doors open 90 minutes prior to the game’s start time, and fans are encouraged to be in their seats 20 minutes prior to tipoff to Thunder Up and welcome the team onto the court. There are dozens of excellent eating options downtown and in the Bricktown Entertainment District, which is a short walk east of Chesapeake Energy Arena. Before select games in the fall and spring, join the family-friendly fun on Reno Avenue for Thunder Alley. The festivities begin three hours prior to tipoff and include games, face painting and entertainment. Check their website at okcthunder.com for specific dates.
ARENA FUN Beyond basketball, Chesapeake Energy Arena is buzzing with activities on game day. Love’s Loud City has face painting (section 302), a photo booth (section 312), spirit stations for sign making and face tattoos (section 322) and more. There’s even a fan mail station (section 318) where fans can write letters to their favorite Thunder players, coaches or entertainers. And little ones won’t want to miss the OU Children’s Physicians Thunder Kids Zone (section 113) with shooting courts and other games perfect for younger fans.
LAST MINUTE TICKETS You can now search all available tickets for Thunder home games at once, including tickets on sale from the team and tickets sold by other fans. Visit okcthunder.com/tickets to select from all available authentic tickets in one place, knowing that your transaction will be official, fast and secure.
LOCAL VIEWING If you’re not one of the lucky 18,203 fans with tickets, you can still have fun watching the game with local fans. There’s RePublic Gastropub in Classen Curve, Bleu Garten Food Truck Park in Midtown, Empire Slice in the Plaza District or Sauced in the Paseo Arts District, just to name a few.
POST GAME FUN Looking for somewhere to celebrate the Thunder victory? Head over to FLINT, the restaurant at the Colcord Hotel, for a drink at their bar or large outdoor patio. Red Piano, the swanky bar at the Skirvin Hilton, and Stag Lounge, the whiskey and cigar lounge in Deep Deuce, are some other popular spots for post-game cocktails. Or you can grab a beer at TapWerks or Bricktown Brewery in the Bricktown Entertainment District.
GEAR UP Clothes make the fan, and there are plenty of places around town to get proper Thunder gear. For official NBA-licensed merchandise, check out the Thunder merchandise shop in Chesapeake Energy Arena at 100 West Reno Avenue and online at okcthunder.com/shop. For locally designed clothes to get you in the spirit, check out Shop Good in Automobile Alley, Opolis Clothing in Midtown, DNA Galleries in the Plaza District or Blue Seven – Just OK on the north side of town.

NIGHTLIFE
COCKTAIL TIME By Greg Horton
With rare exceptions, the best bars in Oklahoma City are attached to restaurants, but there are a few excellent cocktail dens that are open from afternoon to early morning. Most of the city’s best bartenders work close to the urban core, so you will find a wealth of great options in the center of the city.
VERTE CHAUD AT CAFÉ CUVEE AND OBAR The Ambassador Hotel recently went through a restaurant redesign, and the new French-inspired Café Cuvee is the result. Sommelier Jeff Cole thought it would be good to add an authentic Café au Lait to the menu. The Verte Chaud is an ounce of Chartreuse liqueur and five ounces of Belgian hot chocolate thinned with heavy cream and then topped with fresh whipped cream. It’s rich, it’s delicious, and it will warm you all the way through.
RED MOJITO AT RED PRIMESTEAK
BOBBIE JEAN AT S C R ATC H – PAS E O
This is the house cocktail, available year round, and it’s easily the bestseller in the building. Start with a traditional mojito, add Cruzan Black Cherry Rum and two splashes of angostura bitters to create a refreshing cocktail with more complexity and depth than the standard mojito.
With 2 ounces of 100-proof Old Granddad Whiskey, this one has a bit of a kick, but it’s a beautifully balanced cocktail with the addition of lemon, blackberry syrup, fresh basil and coconut. An egg white adds creamy texture to this zippy, boozy, fruity, savory concoction full of layers of flavor and complexity.
BLACK EAGLE AT PONYBOY This Uptown 23rd cocktail bar is also a popular weekend dance spot, and the Black Eagle coffee cocktail will help keep you moving. Made with KLLR espresso—a local roaster—and rum and black walnut bitters, it’s sweet and bitter and very much full of Oklahoma flavors. WWW.VISITOKC.COM

ALE TRAIL
By Greg Horton
Craft brewing was already exploding across the city, and thanks to a few new favorable laws in Oklahoma, the industry is set to grow even more. One of the best results is extended hours for breweries and brewpubs. Here are a few of the best taprooms to check out.
ANTHEM BREWING C O M PA N Y Anthem Brewing Company specializes in light, drinkable beers, which is not to say light on flavor. Balance has always been the key at Anthem, and the IPA proves that every year. The bitterness is balanced perfectly with the fruit, hops and malt.
TAPS: Twelve, including five yearround beers. The rest are seasonal, limited release, and even an occasional experiment. DON’T MISS: Anthem IPA and OK PILS.
FOOD: Food trucks occasionally, but mainly snacks. EXTRAS: Live music Friday and Saturday nights. TOURS: 1 to 2 p.m. Saturdays. TAPROOM HOURS: Monday-Saturday noon to 9 p.m. Sunday noon to 6 p.m.
COOP ALE WORKS COOP Ale Works is the pioneer of craft brewing in Oklahoma City. Their beer library is extensive, but their F5 IPA is the one everyone in OKC knows. Full44

E L K VA L L E Y Elk Valley Brewing moved into their new facility in Midtown this year. The brewery has specialized in off-thebeaten path beers, which is to say beers in familiar styles but with a twist. The locals love Coffee Nemesis, an Imperial Stout, and Elk Valley produces more farmhouse ale than most other breweries in the state.
TAPS: Eighteen, including five yearround beers. The rest are limited release and seasonal rotators. DON’T MISS: Coffee Nemesis and Magic Juice Double IPA. FOOD: No. EXTRAS: Rooftop patio with a great view of the downtown skyline. TOURS: 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturdays. TAPROOM HOURS: Opens daily at noon. Closes 8 p.m. Sunday, 10 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, and midnight Thursday-Saturday.
PRAIRIE ARTISAN ALES Prairie Artisan Ales is best known for producing outstanding farmhouse ales, among other creative brews, and they are the most widely distributed of OKC’s craft beers, with products on five continents. Their 8th Street location is right off historic Automobile Alley and within easy walking distance of great restaurants.
TAPS: Sixteen, including four yearround beers. The rest are special releases, seasonals, and brewery only rotators.
DON’T MISS: Prairie Bomb! is a local favorite, and it’s rich enough to pour over ice cream.
FOOD: No. TOURS: No. TAPROOM HOURS: Daily 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
STONECLOUD Stonecloud features two Avery Brewing Company veterans making some of the state’s very best beers. With a stateof-the-art taproom and a creative, wildly eclectic selection of beers
combined with the beautiful, historic Sunshine Laundry building as its home, Stonecloud is one of the city’s most popular beer destinations.
TAPS: Seventeen, and even the yearround taps rotate regularly. Usually you’ll find a few year-round brews, like the incredibly popular Neon Sunshine. The rest are seasonal and limited release, with a strong emphasis on Stonecloud’s love of sours and barrelaged brews. DON’T MISS: Any sour on tap. Neon Sunshine. Astro Dog IPA.
FOOD: Occasional food trucks.
TAPS: 25, with a big selection of yearround beers—up to 16. The rest are seasonal, limited release, and one-off rotators. DON’T MISS: Dirty Blonde and Irish Rose red ale.
FOOD: No. EXTRAS: The occasional train. TOURS: You can see the tank room from the bar. TAPROOM HOURS: Monday-Thursday, 4 to 10 p.m., Friday 4 to 11 p.m., Saturday noon to 11 p.m., and Sunday noon to 9 p.m.
EXTRAS: Coffee and Kombucha on tap. TOURS: 2 p.m. Saturdays. TAPROOM HOURS: Monday-Thursday 3 to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday noon to 9 p.m.
TWISTED SPIKE Twisted Spike is located right next to the railroad tracks, just east of Automobile Alley. It’s a fantastic setting for the brewery, and like Prairie Artisan Ales, it’s within easy walking distance of restaurants. The brewery specializes in sessionable beers, but they are creative and experimental, too, even offering the occasional one-timeonly batch.

BEYOND BOOZE While drinking can be a pastime in itself, there are other activities that can enhance the sharing of alcohol with friends. These Oklahoma City bars add a little something extra to make your night more memorable.
MICHAEL MURPHY’S DUELING PIANO BAR This Bricktown hotspot is only open Thursday through Saturday nights, so make a reservation, as it gets very busy. The music is lively, and occasionally R-rated, and you can tip the musicians for requested songs. One of the best features is tipping the musicians to bring a friend in your party up on stage. They will compose an impromptu song that’s guaranteed to offer a little fun and a little embarrassment.
BRICKTOWN BIKE BAR

LUDIVINE MIDNIGHT TOAST Want to get to know Oklahoma City a little better? Every Friday night at midnight, community leaders, cultural influencers, celebrities and interesting locals offer up a midnight toast at one of the metro’s best bars. There is usually a charcuterie tray just for showing up.

fills up, anyone who rings the bell near the front door buys the saloon a round. If you’re generous, ring it yourself, but we recommend showing up late and letting one of the rowdy crowd buy you a “Welcome to OKC” beer or shot.
BULL RIDING AT COWBOYS Looking for a dress-code-enforced club where you can dance to the best Country & Western available? In OKC, that club is Cowboys, and while the drinks and music make it a popular destination, one of the real draws is bull riding inside the club on Friday and Saturday nights. Yes, live bulls and real cowboys every weekend. There is a mechanical bull for the would-be cowboy or cowgirl, too.

LIVE MUSIC LOCALES By Greg Horton
Oklahoma City’s thriving live music scene is happening all over the metro, so it’s pretty easy to catch a show no matter where you are staying or playing. With the growth of three new venues in the past year, the menu of choices is incredibly eclectic and the venues range from small listening rooms to full-blown arenas.
ZOO AMPHITHEATRE
JONES ASSEMBLY
THE BLUE DOOR
Just as the name implies, this popular venue is outside the Oklahoma City Zoo. Bands tend toward nostalgic favorites, but the occasional upand-comer will show up for summer festivals, too. Bring a blanket and an ice chest to better enjoy the venue.
Part restaurant, part music venue, the Jones Assembly hosts smaller (less than 2,000 fans), hipper shows in Film Row just west of downtown. The restaurant is usually closed on show evenings, but the neighboring 21c Museum Hotel’s restaurant, Mary Eddy’s, serves excellent before and after food.
If you love Americana, folk, singersongwriter or young, promising acts, The Blue Door is the premiere listening room in OKC. With only 100 seats, you are mere feet away from some of the best local, regional and national acts available. Bring your own ice chest, too.
TOWER THEATRE
CHESAPEAKE ENERGY ARENA
THE CRITERION By far the largest music venue in Bricktown, the Criterion boasts an excellent line-up of regional and national acts. If the band draws 1,500 to 4,000 fans, the Criterion is where they land in OKC. A full bar is available during shows and there is plenty of before and after dining around Bricktown.
Uptown 23rd’s historic theatre is rising rapidly in popularity as a destination for up-close shows. Tower offers the most diverse lineup of musical acts in the city, both in the main theatre and in the studio room (30-40 max) upstairs. A full bar is available during shows.
The 18,000-seat venue is the home to the Oklahoma City Thunder, and to all the A-list acts that come through our city.

ARTS
NOW ON D I S P L AY By Greg Horton and staff
Oklahoma City has become a canvas of sorts for local artists, and while you will find murals in nearly every district in the city, there is also art for a diverse range of tastes. From traditional to contemporary, street art to Southwestern art, and from experimental to Native American, Oklahoma City has museums, venues, galleries and exhibits for the serious connoisseur or the casual fan.
OKLAHOMA CITY MUSEUM OF ART The Oklahoma City Museum of Art is the centerpiece of the city’s art scene. In addition to the Dale Chihuly pieces that are on display year round, the museum hosts traveling exhibitions on the first floor. From October 13 to January 6, 2019, the OKCMOA will be home to a collection called “Victorian Radicals: From the Pre-Raphaelites to the Arts and Crafts Movement.” Featuring works from the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, many pieces in this collection have never been shown outside the UK.

STREET ART Oklahoma City boasts an amazing amount of street art. From bridge tunnels and walkways to building-sized murals, there’s always something to see around every corner. Plaza Walls is a rotating mural project. One wall changes every month, while the entire Plaza Walls alley changes during the annual Plaza District Festival in September. Rain or shine, OKC gives you the ability to see art no matter the weather. Oklahoma was one of six cities awarded a creative place-making grant, and Downtown OKC made proper use of the funds. Using Rainworks waterproof solution, 27 different poems are scattered throughout eight downtown districts. When dry, they are completely invisible and with a few rain drops, the art begins to come alive.
OKLAHOMA CONTEMPORARY With an emphasis on contemporary and experimental art, Oklahoma Contemporary features some of the state’s most avant garde installations and exhibits. Beginning in February 2019 and continuing into summer, the museum will host the work of one of Forbes Magazine’s 30 Under 30 artists (2015), Tatyana Fazlalizadeh. Oklahoma native and now New York’s Public Artist in Residence, Fazlalizadeh focuses on marginalized individuals and communities in her work.

THE AMERICAN BANJO MUSEUM The American Banjo Museum located in Bricktown is presenting a yearlong tribute to Muppets’ creator Jim Henson, called Jim Henson—Life and Legacy, that runs through September 2019. The installation will feature memorabilia from the beloved Henson, including an original “Kermit” from the show, and a banjo that was used for musical accompaniment on the show.
THE NATIONAL COWBOY & WESTERN HERITAGE MUSEUM The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum is one of the most popular destinations in Oklahoma City. From October 6 through January 6, 2019, guests will have access to two outstanding exhibitions, including works for sale from the Traditional Cowboy Arts Association and the Cowboy Artists Association. The latter focuses on fine arts—painting, drawing and sculpture—whereas the TCAA features silversmithing, saddlemaking, bit and spur making, and rawhide braiding. From February 8 through May 12, 2019, the museum will host The Bison Exhibit, an exploration of the iconic animal’s importance to Native peoples, the American West and popular culture. Using art, informational displays, and even coinage, the contributions of this symbol of the West will be highlighted, including the human response that led to the animal’s preservation.

EXHIBIT C Exhibit C is a gallery and retail space in Bricktown that focuses on the work of Native American artists. A showcase featuring ten artists from five Native tribes whose work explores Mississippian culture will close October 31, 2018. The five tribes (Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Muscogee [Creek], and Seminole) all share a common story of forced removal from the Southeastern U.S. and resettlement in what is now Oklahoma. “Post Plymouth” will be at Exhibit C through February 28, 2019. The exhibition of four featured Native artists looks at the Native American response to assimilation, how the tribes have survived, and according to the artists, even thrived. The four featured artists work in a wide variety of media, including paint, fiber, sculpture and performance art.
FACTORY OBSCURA Factory Obscura is Oklahoma City’s newest immersive art experience. A team of 25 artists and dozens of volunteers create a multisensory, fully immersive experience focusing on themes of creativity, illusion, awakening, and transformation. Participants are led on a “mystical odyssey” through various installations, all of which are meant to engage the brain and the senses. The 2018 Factory Obscura “BEYOND” is in the new location at 1522 S. Robinson Ave., and it’s open until December 21. The 2019 version has not been announced yet, but organizers say they will have it ready to go early in the year.

The production is a sequel to Weber’s iconic “Phantom of the Opera,” which will also be in Oklahoma City January 9-20, 2019. Three other productions round out the season: the Emilio and Gloria Estefan story “On Your Feet!” (February 5-10), “A Bronx Tale” (March 5-10), and “Waitress” (March 19-24).

Breakfast WAKE UP! The lazy Oklahoma City of old is gone. This city has lots to do and lots to eat, so you need to get started ASAP. Breakfast is the most important meal you’ll eat this morning, so hop to it.
SUNNYSIDE DINER Diner classics prepared with a chef’s flair are the order of the day. Try Eggs in Purgatory — a trio of eggs simmered in spicy marinara and covered in melted Parmesan cheese.
HATCH Treat yourself to a flight of pancakes so you can taste every variety of deliciousness Hatch has in store, like blueberry streusel and bananas foster.
SYRUP Spice up the morning with a sizzling order of sriracha-honey chicken and waffle. Ranch is available on the side, if you need to put out the fire.
A U R O R A B R E A K F A S T, B A R & B A C K YA R D Thyme biscuits are especially loved at Aurora. Grab the Pork N Biscuit for a novel take on eggs benedict. Sarsaparilla-braised pork will fuel the day ahead and pairs well with a cup of coffee. WWW.VISITOKC.COM

Brunch
Did Oklahoma City invent brunch? No. But we’ve perfected it, as evidenced by the growing number of spots serving a boozy breakfast-lunch hybrid.
WA F F L E C H A M P I O N Perfect for walking around Midtown, Waffle Champion’s fare is as tasty as it is portable. The avocado toast waffle comes stuffed with pickled red onion, radish, micro greens, a fried and tender avocado.
PICASSO CAFE Shhhh. Here’s a secret: Picasso’s brunch has a hidden menu item that mixes biscuit debris with a breakfast burrito, but you have to ask for it by name: The Biscuit Deburrito. And the drink menu definitely deserves perusing.
CAFÉ KACAO Grab a cup of Kacao’s extra-smooth coffee and buckle up for Spicy Tecpan’s blend of eggs scrambled with chorizo, jalapeño, onions and tomato. Be smart: ask for extra tortillas.
CHEEVER’S CAFE Get low country fabulous with Cheever’s bacon-wrapped shrimp over a bed of cheddar and green onion grits. You’ll need at least one bloody mary, while you’re at it. 58

THE MULE This menu’s got some kick! The Cortez pairs short rib, peppery cheese, grilled jalapeño and onion between two slices of jalapeño cornbread.
CHARLESTON’S BRICKTOWN Before the onslaught of chicken strip restaurants, Charleston’s was serving up their lightly fried strips. Taste the original and you’ll see why there’s none better in this upscale casual restaurant.
GOGI GO This newly opened lunch spot is like a Korean Chipotle — build your own rice bowl or burrito with tons of flavor. You can’t go wrong with kimchi fried rice and a soft-boiled egg stirred in.

Oklahoma City shines at dinner. Go upscale fancy or laid-back casual — there’s amazing food to be had no matter your style. MICKEY MANTLE’S STEAKHOUSE You can’t visit Oklahoma without eating a steak. It’s basically a law. For one of the best, try Mickey Mantle’s tenderloin tips trio, served with three signature sauces, with a side of grilled rosemary zucchini.
BARRIOS FINE MEXICAN DISHES The only issue with eating wood-fired fajitas from Barrios is that every fajita you eat from here on out will struggle to match this deliciousness. The drink menu is fabulous, as well.
HEFNER GRILL Well, shucks! As long as you’re watching the sunset over Lake Hefner, you might as well slurp down some crispy fried Oysters St. Charles with cream spinach, artichokes and a jalapeño aioli.
PAS E O G R I L L One of the best wine menus in OKC resides at Paseo Grill. Enjoy a bottle in the secluded private dining nooks with some delicate blackened trout over orzo or a lovely maple-glazed duck breast.
IRON STAR Indulge in some sweet, smoky barbecue at Iron Star at the hammered bronze bar or slip into a booth to cut into a tender pepper-crusted prime rib. Whatever you choose, they’ve got a great beer selection to pair with it. 60

PIE JUNKIE The lineup of pies changes daily, but you’ll never run out of great choices at Pie Junkie. Check out the pie of the month or just dig into a delectable slice of key lime. If you’re craving something savory, they do a dynamite quiche, too.
CAPITALS ICE CREAM One of the newest offerings in OKC’s dessert scene, Capitals starts with classic vanilla ice cream as a base and adds the toppings of your choice (like fruit, cereal, candy, cookies and more) to create a custom ice cream experience.
INGRID’S The bakery at Ingrid’s is renowned for painstakingly decorated cookies and decadent pies, cakes and pastries. Enjoy a Nussecken — a shortbread and hazelnut cookie dipped in chocolate.
GREEN GOODIES It’s never a bad time for a cupcake, especially when it comes from Green Goodies. The sopapilla cheesecake is a must-try: tender vanilla cake topped with cinnamon and sugar-dusted cream cheese frosting.
