Cherries are the first to arrive, followed by apricots, plums, peaches, pears and apples. Heirloom tomatoes of every hue and shape, fragrant strawberries as well as raspberries and blueberries make appearances at markets and road-side stands throughout the season.

U-PICK & FRUIT STANDS

Take a drive and stop at one of the many u-pick or fruit stands located throughout the Penticton area and South Okanagan, for fresh produce direct from local farmers. Find fruit and vegetables, locally raised meat and eggs, artisanal cheese, preserves, honey, savoury treats, handmade artisan goods and much more.

Markets

If you prefer to shop for your local produce all in one place, then you don’t want to miss our local weekly markets. The Penticton Farmers’ Market is held on Saturday mornings from 8:30 am to 1 pm from April to October, on the 100 block of Main Street. Vendors proudly make, bake or grow everything they bring to the market. Find farm fresh fruits and veggies, eggs, honey, baked goods, preserves and handmade crafts plus a selection of local liquor vendors each week for tasting and purchasing.

Also running on Saturdays at 8:30 am to 1:30 pm from May to September is the Downtown Community Market. Located along Main Street, Front Street and Backstreet Boulevard, this open-air market boasts a diverse set of hundreds of vendors who feature handmade goods including clothing, food, jewelry, collectibles, antiques and furniture, as well as food vendors, live music and entertainment.

You can also find weekly markets in nearby communities including the Summerland Farmers’ Market on Tuesdays, Naramata Community Market on Wednesdays, and the Summerland Rotary Market on Sundays.
