The Sonche Canyon 7.5 km to the north of the city of Chachapoyas towards Huancas (25 min. by van and 15 min. on foot) to the Sonche Canyon. Opening hours: Mon-Sun 8:00 am - 6:00 pm. Ticket entry. With a depth of 962 meters, the canyon is the ideal place for an amazing view of the Sonche River and its surroundings populated with the quina plant.

The Yálape Archeological Remains 17 km to the south of the city of Chachapoyas (50 min. by car). The remains consist of ornate circular structures with high reliefs in the shape of diamonds and zigzags that were built by the Chachapoya culture between AD 1100 and A.D. 1300.

The Leymebamba Museum Av. Austria s/n, Leymebamba. Opening hours: Mon-Sun 10:00 am - 4:30 pm. Ticket entry. The museum includes Pre-Hispanic weapons and ceramics found in the area. The most outstanding items are the mummies and objects extracted from the Lagoon of the Condors.

Lagoon of the Condors From the locality of Leymebamba, 93 km to the south of the city of Chachapoyas (2 hr. by car), it is a hike of between 8 and 12 hours to the lagoon (the journey can also be done by mule). Ticket entry. More than 200 mummies and approximately 2000 items belonging to the Inca and Chachapoya cultures were discovered in this lagoon. The rock paintings that adorn the outcrops on the shore should also be appreciated.
