Redmond is proud of its parks, and the Dry Canyon Park is the crown jewel of the Redmond park system. In the Dry Canyon, there is plenty to keep you busy, and be sure to check out the all-inclusive Hope Playground at Sam Johnson Park. e fact that the majority of the Dry Canyon is set aside as a nature preserve, capturing the beauty of the high desert environment, is a source of local pride. e canyon is pure Central Oregon, and the steep canyon walls serve as a tribute to the areas tormented volcanic past. e Dry Canyon Park meanders 3.7 miles through the Center of Redmond, o ering recreational amenities as well as traditional park services, including a pavilion, benches, picnic tables, water fountains, a dog park, tennis, pickle ball, softball, paved trails for walking and biking and more.
For your disc golf enthusiasts, the Dry Canyon Park o ers one of Central Oregon’s best-loved courses. e course snakes through the high desert terrain with sparse juniper groves, sage and grasses, and is bordered by steep canyon walls.
e Dry Canyon is also the home of the Maple Bridge Climbing Arches, a unique rock climbing opportunity for seasoned rock climbers.
