Following is a raucous parade with MarchFourth Marching Band and music by Mexican-American singer and songwriter Perla Batalla at Wingfield Park.Sponsored by Reno Arts and Culture Commission, Reno Tahoe USA, MomsLikeMe.com and Friends of Artown. Festivities kick off with children’s art activities including mural painting and hands-on art projects. Body Masterpiece transforms children’s faces for the opening parade. TheatreWorks of Northern Nevada, the Note-Ables, the Boys and Girls Club, “a green” Discover the Arts project, Tune in for Kids and others join in the festivities. PERLA BATALLA
A rich voice and poetic lyrics set Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter Perla Batalla apart from the rest.
