Salt Palace Convention Center

The Salt Palace Convention Center is among the nation’s newest, largest, and most technologically advanced convention centers. With over 11,000 rooftop solar panels installed in 2011 in a 600,000-square-foot project, the Salt Palace will generate enough electricity to power 261 homes each year.

“they have such a terrific meetings industry in the city,” says bridget Sypolt, director of events for mPi. “the convention center and the hotels that feed into it are all very walkable; you are constantly running into your group, so it feels very close together. there are plenty of restaurants and bars in that same small area, so there are plenty of things to walk to in the evening.” From “Salt Lake City: Beehive State Buzz” MeetingsFocus.com, December 2009

“i didn’t expect to find a world-class micro-brewery in Salt lake city. but, since the 2002 Winter olympics, the city has finally loosened liquor licensing laws and filled new concert venues with big names to establish itself as an adventure playground.” From “Surprising Salt Lake City” by Adam McCulloch, AAA Horizons, May 24, 2010

“i’ve worked with the Salt lake convention & visitors bureau for about 10 years, and i’ve always felt that they have one of the most wonderful bureaus in the whole meeting system. i don’t think we’ve ever had another bureau that has gone to the extent they have to help us get everything together, make sure things are going smoothly, work with us and our local people. it’s just been wonderful.” Nancy Todd, CMP, Manager Conference Management & Vendor Relations, American Chemical Society
