Very Important.
For years, Visit Spokane has worked with Tourism Economics to compile regional tourism impact data. Each spring, we celebrate the Essential, Necessary, and Very Important role of tourism in lowering household taxes, creating jobs, and funding essential services. In May 2025, we will release this year’s report, highlighting the impact of visitor spending.
We’re also proud to launch the first annual Visit Spokane Community Impact Report to showcase how destination promotion benefits our region. While our marketing and sales e orts focus on attracting visitors, the ultimate impact is a stronger local economy, thriving businesses, and an enhanced quality of place for residents.
Destinations International’s industry campaign reinforces that destination promotion is a public good—a vital investment in economic growth and community well-being. As Chief Advocacy O cer Jack Johnson states:
“For a community to compete, people need to know about the destination, hear about it, and be able to find it when they search.”
At Visit Spokane, we bring Spokane’s story to national and international audiences through sales, public relations, digital campaigns, and community engagement. This report highlights the e orts that elevated Spokane in 2024, and we are grateful for your partnership in making our region a premier destination.
At the center of it all is YOU. You are the story, and we are here to tell it.

You are the story.
We are here to tell it.
I sat on the idyllic land of Owens Farms on my final night, feeling like something straight out of a dream, as comets streaked across the sky while we petted the full-blood Piedmontese cows.
