Haunted Attractions

The statewide Haunted History Trail of NYS features over 80 frightening, creepy locations, with five of them found right here in Onondaga County. From the ghostly haunting of the Landmark Theatre thanks to resident spirit Clarissa, to the eerie sounds surrounding the abandoned munitions plant at Split Rock Quarry, discover the spooky side of the Syracuse area. Explore history, arts and the outdoors while following one of the region’s uniquely Syracuse walking tours. The Downtown Committee of Syracuse offers two self-guided expeditions. Discover historic landmarks, monuments and architecture with the Historic Walking Tour. Alternatively, the Public Art Tour focuses on urban art, murals and sculptures, highlighting 50 unique pieces throughout downtown. Experience more downtown history with the Syracuse Freedom Trail . The 11 stops on the trail are marked by blue informational signs and commemorate the history of the Underground Railroad, abolitionist and African-American historic and cultural sites in the city.
