Culture seekers will encounter off-Broadway productions, historic and contemporary museums, ballet and opera performances. Fans flock to Vero Beach for cultural experiences like snowbirds come to soak up the sun. A few miles from the oceanfront is an artist enclave known as the Vero Beach Art Village. It’s a haven for visitors who seek to “hobnob” with local artists, as they create works of affordable art right before your eyes.
THEATRE REVIEWS Riverside Theatre is celebrating 45 years of producing quality works from Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regional theatres with an emphasis on high production values. The theater, known as Florida's largest professional theatre, has produced show-stopping hits such as My Fair Lady, Legally Blonde, Evita, and others featuring casts recruited right from the Broadway stages of the Big Apple. Theater goers can also take in contemporary dramas, comedies, and seasonal shows, in addition to the lavish musicals. 2022 promises to return with a splash when the theatre presents highly acclaimed Broadway musicals, including the uplifting and Electrifying “Billy Elliot,” “I Love You You’re Perfect, Now Change,” “Carousel." Vero is especially excited to welcome “On Your Feet,” the musical story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan. Riverside also offers very special events like their Distinguished Lecturer Series, a forerunner in the presentation of relevant topics focused on national and global affairs and presented by distinguished experts who bring with them unique insight. 3250 Riverside Park Drive, Vero Beach. For more than 60 years, Vero Beach Theatre Guild, Inc., has set the stage for great community theatre and electrifying locals and visitors alike. New this season is an expanded show schedule with monthly performances. The Guild has also supplemented its monthly offerings with the Apron series, which includes four staged readings in front of the “grape drape.” The 2021 season will feature the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical, “Jesus Christ Superstar,” a delightful romantic comedy “Almost Maine,” and the Divine Musical Comedy “Sister Act,” to name a few. In addition, a larger 5,000-square foot rehearsal hall, a green rooftop terrace for alfresco activities, and a new space for educational programs such as workshops and adult and children’s classes keep this theater modern and relevant. 2020 San Juan Avenue, Vero Beach.
