Edible Community Garden: VIS & Ban Saphantong Tai Primary School
Can you help? In collaboration with Ban Saphantong Tai Primary School (STSS), VIS’s sister school, a small group of VIS Grade 4, 5 and 6 students are excited to be involved in the establishment of a Edible Community Garden. This project is part of the VIS Co-curricular Program. The garden will be located on the grounds of STSS, and our team will be working with students from STSS to plan, establish and maintain an edible garden. This inclusive and collaborative ongoing project aims to further develop our partnership with STSS in a meaningful and authentic setting. VIS students who are involved are excited at the prospect of building new friendships, and sharing skills and knowledge including language exchange, gardening and sustainable environment practices. We are currently in the initial stages of the project, and are inquiring into ways we can obtain resources to facilitate the development of the garden. This week we brainstormed some ideas of possible action and decided that we should call for action within our school community…
We are open to parent involvement in the project and would be most appreciative if you could donate used or new resources that may help us with our garden. Resources may include:
