VFXV ANNIVERSARY
VFX VOICE CELEBRATES ITS 5TH ANNIVERSARY In Spring 2017, the VES launched our premiere magazine, VFX Voice, which quickly claimed the mantle as a must-read publication among decision- makers and influencers in visual effects and global entertainment. The goal was to create a new platform to shine a light on outstanding visual effects artistry and innovation worldwide, advance the profile and recognition of the VFX industry and marvel at the talent who never cease to inspire us all – and do it all with top-notch editorial and eye-popping visuals. Because of your enthusiastic support, the success of our print and digital magazine, dubbed “the definitive authority on all things VFX” has exceeded our wildest expectations. In its first two years, VFX Voice won a number of national magazine awards and was recognized as Best New Magazine Launch, Best New Magazine Design and Best Website (VFXVoice.com). These achievements were a testament to everyone who played a role in getting VFX Voice off the ground, from concept to publication, and to everyone who continues to help it flourish. VFX Voice keeps us tethered through stories that celebrate our craft and our global community – so thank you for being a part of our journey and stay tuned for all that comes next! Here’s what the VFX industry has said about five years of VFX Voice, along with the covers of every issue of the magazine. “It’s hard to imagine what the visual effects community would feel like without VFX Voice. It’s a robust platform filled with rich features and news stories that I think everyone in our industry can benefit from. So whether you’re a model maker, an artist or a studio executive, there’s something here for you.” —John Knoll, Executive Creative Director and Senior Visual Effects Supervisor, Industrial Light & Magic “Five years in and VFX Voice has become essential reading. Keeping abreast of the latest trends, breakthroughs and conversations in the industry is crucial. Through the magazine I not only am able to track the evolution of a rapidly changing field, I’m able to read thoughtful, well-written articles about subjects that I enjoy following. It’s both business and pleasure.” —Jim Morris, VES, President, Pixar Animation Studios “As we continue to move to a more connected world, where remote collaboration is part of our every day, and where the rate of technological transformation is increasing rapidly, VFX Voice and its connection to our global members will become ever more important. VFX Voice will continue to be the prominent voice that informs and inspires the generations of creatives, producers and technologists that follow.” —Jennie Zeiher, VES Australia Section Board of Managers, Head of Business Development, Rising Sun Pictures
