You will be able to provide your thigh circumference, by measuring the diameter of your upper leg just below the buttocks with the metric tape measure provided. By relating intertrochanteric distance to thigh circumference parameters, the Matching System calculates the distance between the ischiatic tuberosities, which is where the pressure points on the saddle originate.
A unique element of the Matching System is the pelvic inclinometer, which measures the rotation of the pelvis of an individual. Pelvic rotation varies from rider to rider so this data is also essential, obtainable by the saddle fitter from your lower back when bent forward. In this way, the computer determines the rotation of the rider’s pelvis and recommend the most comfortable Selle Italia saddle, be it a Flow, Gel Flow or other type.

Category S: This IDMATCH category is for cyclists who have a SMALL distance between their ischial bones. The Iron saddle is the epitomy of lightness, aerodynamics and comfort for triathletes. It is a concentration of technology and innovation capable of improving overall performance in all aspects of the discipline. With the frame set further back and the saddle positioned further forward in relation to the bottom bracket axle, the triathlete saves a significant amount of muscle energy necessary. The tapered shape of the saddle nose (with an international patent) reduces rubbing between the inside thigh and the side of the saddle and facilitates

the pedalling movement. The special net inserted in the central channel encourages the draining and drying of wet clothing thereby reducing the incidence of sores. The characteristic design of the rear of the saddle prevents the vortex cascade effect which produces turbulence behind the riders body. The spoiler offers an improved and more comfortable support for the buttocks whilst the arms are resting on the handlebars. The presence of reflectors can increase the safety of the cyclist whilst racing.

Il caratteristico design del retro della sella evita l’effetto “vortici a cascata” cioè l’aumento della turbolenza nella parte posteriore del corpo del ciclista. SHOCK ABSORBER TECHNOLOGY
The shell is produced with a special co-polymer, added with carbon fibre, which does not change it’s character in variable temperatures and is also lightweight. The co-molded elastomer (fork design) keeps the shell flexible and becomes an active part of the rider because it follows the movement of the rider’s leg.
The use of elastomer “shock absorber” between the shell and the rail provides a shock dampening system which absorbs and eliminates all road shocks and vibrations.
