4 days/3 nights Launceston - Launceston Departures: Daily (1 Oct 16 - 31 Mar 17) Discover one of Australia’s most stunning coastlines on a small-group, guided walking tour exploring Tasmania’s breathtaking east coast beaches, dramatic landscape and ecology and wildlife with a professional and passionate nature and adventure guide. Day 1: Launceston - Forester Beach Camp On arrival you will be provided with your equipment and receive a briefing regarding your journey and safety. Once that it is all in order your trekking journey will begin as you make your way to Mt. William National Park via a scenic route that includes the rich pastoral landscapes of Scottsdale and the tin-mining town of Derby. You will reach the Northern part of the Mt. William National Park and begin walking at Stumpy’s Bay. Views to the north include the Bass Strait Islands (Flinders, Cape Barren, etc). Lunch is enjoyed in the company of native birds, interesting shells and marine artefacts on one of the many pristine beaches nestled into the coastline. The evening is spent relaxing on the deck and enjoying the surrounds of the dune swale location. Overnight: Forester Beach Camp (L, D) Day 2: Forester Beach Camp - Bay of Fires Following a relaxed breakfast at the camp travel south and be amazed at the magnificent coastline of colour and solitude. Walk along ridgelines of sand-dunes, enjoying views across heathlands and across the ocean to the east. Exploration of the marsupial lawns often reveals quiet native animals and the many tracks they leave behind. Enjoy lunch at one of the coves sheltered behind the dunes near Eddystone Point Lighthouse. After lunch relish in the seclusion of beaches and coves before partaking in afternoon tea at the Bay of Fires Lodge. Overnight: Bay of Fires Lodge (B, L, D)

Day 3: Bay of Fires A free day to relax or set off on another adventure paddling the tranquil waters of Ansons River. Discover the delicate ecology of this river system as it winds its way to the mouth of Ansons Bay, a haven for water birds and eagle rays. Other options for this day include fishing, snorkelling in the marine nursery and exploring the nearby shell coves. Overnight: Bay of Fires Lodge (B, L, D) Day 4: Bay of Fires - Launceston After breakfast and a morning swim or walk, depart the lodge. Walking through eucalyptus forests and coastal heathland, many native birds can be seen and heard. After lunch, travel through the picturesque Pipers Brook wine region stopping at Dr Andrew Pirie’s Vineyard before returning to Launceston. (B, L) NOTE: Walkers should have moderate fitness. Average walking per day is 9-14 kilometres with frequent rests and stops. Adequate clothing and sturdy walking boots are essential and walkers will not be permitted without appropriate gear. Otago Central Railtrail - Luxury Independent Tour 4 days/3 nights Queenstown to Dunedin Witness some of New Zealand’s amazing scenery on this cycle adventure on the Otago Central Railtrail. Ride over viaducts, through tunnels and experience wonderful cuisine while meeting colourful local people. After riding 3½ to 4½ hours a day sit back in your luxury accommodation, relax and reflect on your day’s ride. The Otago Central Railtrail is a vehicle-free trail with an easy gradient and is a great way to get outdoors and explore New Zealand’s landscapes. Day 1: Clyde to Ophir (39km or 47km) After being picked up in Queenstown you will be transferred to Clyde. Once in Clyde you will be fitted with your bike, before being briefed on your tour and beginning your adventure. Leaving Clyde you will head to Alexandra. You can choose to cycle past vineyard landscapes and over a wooden trestle bridge or if you are feeling up for more adventure you have the option of following the Clutha River Centennial Track which adds an extra eight kilometres to your journey. From Alexandra continue on to Chatto Creek where you will stop for lunch at the Chatto Creek Tavern (winner of the best country pub). After lunch continue your journey up Tiger Hill and then downhill to Omakau,then make your way to Ophir for dinner and your overnight stay. Overnight: Pitches Store Ophir (B, L, D) Day 2: Ophir to Oturehua (31km) Continue your journey by making your way to Omakau, then cycle to Lauder and through the Poolburn Gorge. You will travel through two tunnels and cross the impressive Poolburn Viaduct, one of the most spectacular parts of the trail. Once in Lauder pick up your lunch which you can either eat in Lauder or take with you to enjoy in the gorge enjoying the stunning scenery. After lunch cycle through the Ida Valley. Here you will have a guided tour of Hayes Engineering before heading on to Oturehua to your accommodation for the evening. This day will also include a guided tour to Naseby. Overnight: Marchburn Lodge Oturehua (B, L, D)

Day 3: Oturehua to Kokonga (42km) Today you will cycle up to the highest point of the trail and then back down to Wedderburn and on to Ranfurly (the Art Deco capital of Otago). Continue across the Maniototo Plains to Waipiata for a lunch stop, before heading on to Kokonga where you will spend the evening. Overnight: Kokonga Lodge (B, L, D) Day 4: Kokonga to Middlemarch (43km) Today you will cycle alongside the Taieri River between Daisybank and Hyde, and across Capburn Bridge, Prince’s Creek Viaduct and a 152 metre long tunnel. On your journey today you will also pass former train stations and the site of the 1943 Hyde Rail disaster. Continue on to Middlemarch where your trail journey finishes. Enjoy lunch in Middlemarch before being transferred to Pukerangi where you will board the Taieri Gorge Tourist Train for a train journey through the rugged gorge to Dunedin. Day 5: Granada Spend the morning at one of Spain’s most visited monuments, Alhambra, a beautiful Spanish palace rich in history. Enjoy the afternoon exploring the city of Granada. Day 6: Granada - Linares/Baeza - Cordoba Visit two small renaissance cities which are UNESCO World Heritige-listed sites. Surrounded by the Guadalquivir and Guadalimar valleys the neighbouring cities of Ubeda and Baeza are said to be the most beautiful cities in the Jaen province and feature architecture and monuments from the Renaissance period. In the evening return to the train for your onward journey to Cordoba. Day 7: Cordoba - Seville Today visit Cordoba, once the most opulent city in western Europe. The city offers a fascinating mix of Roman and Moorish architecture. Return to the Al Andalus for your last lunch and enjoy the stunning countryside landscapes on your journey back to Seville, where your journey ends.

Day 4: Yekaterinburg Today cross the Asia/Europe divide before arriving in the third largest Russian city, Yekaterinburg. This city combines European and Asian cultural and architectural influences and is where you will discover powerful insight into the turmoil of the Russian Revolution. Days 5-7: Novosibirsk - Irkutsk Discover the modern ‘Soviet’ city of Novosibirsk with a tour uncovering the city’s rich culture and history in science, literature and the arts. A highlight is a visit to the Opera House. The next day you will spend on board the Golden Eagle as you make your way to Irkutsk. Day 10: Ulaan Baatar Today arrive into Mongolia, a country which was once the empire led by Gengis Khan. Once in the city you will pass the central monument to Genghis Khan in Sukhebaatar Square, and learn of the country’s history while exploring the National Museum.
