BITEC finished building its new exhibition halls, which will be used for VIV Asia 2017. Thanks to the new halls 98, 99 & 100, the entrance of BITEC is closer to BTS Skytrain station Bang Na. The car & taxi drop off is at entrance 103 and busses will now stop at the brand new bus terminal near the entrance of hall 100. When walking in from the newly built entrance you'll come to a broad boulevard path running the full length of the exhibit area. This has been specially designed to provide easy access to each individual section and make sure that all parts of the show are fully visible. What is more, the so-called Grand Boulevard leads to two Squares that have been named Utrecht and Abu Dhabi in honour of the VIV flagship trade shows VIV Europe and VIV MEA. SPECIALS & SATELLITE EVENTS VIV Asia 2017 offers a wide range of dedicated events in venues close to BITEC, and events covering specific topics on the show floor.
SPECIAL DAIRYTECH AT VIV ASIA 2017 TRACKS MILK FROM GRASS TO GLASS Asia’s fast-growing production and consumption of milk and dairy products guarantees great interest in a special section on dairying at the forthcoming international feed-to-food exhibition VIV Asia. The 2017 edition of VIV Asia will include a milk-focused package of a dedicated conference, seminars and an expo pavilion, as a Special called DairyTech. The DairyTech Special comes after a United Nations declaration on World Milk Day 2016 that the Asia-Pacific region is now the world’s largest milk producer, regional production having grown at a rate of almost 4.5 per cent per year over the past 35 years. In 2016, Asia has produced about 327 million tonnes of milk --- equivalent to 40% of the world total. Out of an increase of 140 million tonnes projected for global output by 2025, almost 60 per cent is expected to come from Asian countries.
Also a series of DairyTech commercial seminars are listed during VIV Asia 2017. These seminars on Wednesday 15 March are being organized by individual exhibitors in association with the publication International Dairy Topics, to present the latest ideas and products for producing milk profitably. Visitors are invited to follow a ‘Dairy Walk’ that takes them to exhibits relating to the complete dairy chain from grass to glass.
“There has to be a good technical level to support the further expansion of milk businesses throughout Asia and this will be the focus of the DairyTech Special in March. We have been fortunate in securing the co-operation of several major organizations from the sector in putting together a programme that is rich in content for our visitors on the theme of profitable dairy production” comments DairyTech Special co-ordinator Anel Ceman of VIV worldwide. Special conference and pavilion The Special starts with an invitation-only DairyTech Conference in downtown Bangkok on Tuesday 14 March, the day before VIV Asia 2017 opens its doors. Working with partners who include Global Dairy Farmers, UN-FAO and the Thai Holstein Friesian Association, VIV worldwide has prepared an agenda for the full-day meeting to discuss practical aspects of dairy cow management, farm biosecurity and diet optimization. Then on Wednesday 15 March the spotlight moves to the show itself at Bangkok’s BITEC exhibition centre. On this occasion DairyTech will host an expo pavilion, to be found in the in the sector farm production displaying dairy equipment. Among them are famous brands from around the world in production equipment, processing and packaging systems, genetics, nutrition and cow health. In addition, VIV Asia will have many other exhibitors who serve the milk market as part of a wider product range for the animal protein industries.

AQUATIC AT VIV ASIA 2017: FULL OF ATTRACTIONS FOR AQUACULTURE BUYERS Aquaculture receives special treatment at VIV Asia. The Special called Aquatic features a pre-show conference, several show-time seminars and a pavilion of exhibitors at VIV Asia whose primary purpose is to reach out with products or services for the aquaculture sector. Aquatic will offer aquaculture buyers much to network, see and learn from health products and ingredients to solutions for aqua feed manufacturing in displays of feed processing equipment. Asian aquaculture: growing business Asia leads the way in producing aquatic animal proteins and aquaculture therefore deserves a central place in the VIV Asia platform. Show manager Zhenja Antochin: “Asian aquaculture is a growing business and our development and investment in it has kept track with that growth at each edition of the show since it was first included in 2009. At the 2017 edition we are responding to our surveys and feedback showing that aquaculture is highly relevant to VIV Asia’s audience.” Three-part menu of attractions “Aquatic features a three-part menu of strong attractions for visitors with a business interest in aquaculture,” says Roel Schoenmaker, who is coordinating the Aquatic activities on behalf of VIV worldwide. “As well as a pre-show conference and several show-time seminars, Aquatic features its own pavilion of exhibitors. “The Aquatic Pavilion is going to be fully integrated as a central feature in the main hall of the show. It will be located within the section highlighting animal health and feed ingredients and additives. The location also puts the pavilion close to other exhibiting companies that have feed and health products for aquaculture as part of their wider product range.” Pre-show conference The city-centre Novotel hotel on Bangkok’s Sukhumvit road provides the venue for the pre-show Aquatic Conference set for Tuesday 14 March. This conference runs from 9:00 until 17:00, including lunch, and has a non-commercial management theme discussing issues of biosecurity, feed and recirculation in relation to health control at aquaculture sites. The conference - in English and Thai languages - is being presented by VIV and International Aquafeed Magazine with Asian aquaculture talent development company Progressus. Thailand’s governmental Department of Fisheries and the World Aquaculture Society are official partners of the meeting. As an additional feature of Aquatic, a meeting room at the BITEC showground has been set aside for Wednesday 15 March so that aquaculture-related exhibitors have an opportunity to organise their 1 hour commercial seminars close to the exhibition floor during the course of the show day. Aquatic Pavilion On the show floor the international line-up of companies on the Aquatic Pavilion - all fully dedicated to aquaculture -, reveals an emphasis on feed and health supplies for the industrial production of fish and shrimp. “For aquaculture at the show, it brings a beautiful synergy with the whole atmosphere of the venue and the energy there,” says show manager Zhenja Antochin.
Aliphos Event Aliphos has the pleasure to invite you to the “Aliphos Event” on Thursday 16th March in the afternoon. The event will take place in room 202, theater 98 from 4 to 5 pm. VIV ASIA SATELLITE EXPLORES THE PETS BUSINESS VIV Asia 2017 in Bangkok will offer practical expertise and product information about the healthcare and feeding of dogs and cats, in addition to its core focus on the feed-to-food chain of producing and processing animal proteins for human consumption. The pets package is to be presented as a content-rich Satellite Event called Pet Health and Nutrition that will combine a dedicated pavilion at the exhibition with conference presentations and a post-show short training course. Overlapping interests “As an international platform that is all about animals in the Asian region, we were well aware of the overlaps that exist between animal feed and pet food and between animal health and pet health,” says Show Manager Zhenja Antochin. “These overlaps mean that quite a number of the people attending VIV Asia are involved in or interested in Asia’s multi-billion-dollar pets business. So there is obvious value in making sure that the professionals in these sectors will again find something at the March 2017 edition which suits their interests. Pet Health and Nutrition has been created for this exact purpose. We call it a Satellite Event because it is outside the show’s main profile, but it remains an integral part of VIV Asia in the sense of occurring at the same place and time and being available to every visitor.” Networking and training Separately under the general Pet Health and Nutrition banner there is to be a stand-alone conference at the Okura Prestige hotel in downtown Bangkok on Tuesday 14th March. Organized by a partnership between VIV worldwide and pet industry publication PETS International, this conference is PETSConnect Asia 2017, offering insights into the global and Asian pet markets plus a valuable networking opportunity for people from inside and outside the region’s pets business. Supporting partners of the event are Buhler, Wenger, Tyson, Sonac and Lazada Group. Conference on label claims On the second day of VIV Asia, the Satellite Event also offers an afternoon conference at BITEC discussing the claims made on pet food labels regarding a product’s ingredients or intended benefits. Speakers at this Pet Health and Nutrition Conference starting at 13:00 on Thursday 16th March include Dutch experts Anton Beynen of Vobra Special Petfoods, talking about trends in pet food supply and the role of health claims, and Ronald-Jan Corbee of Utrecht University’s faculty of veterinary medicine on the subject of dental health claims made for pet foods. Also from The Netherlands, Guido Bosch of Wageningen University will be covering behavioural health claims. “Pet Health and Nutrition has arranged to host guests from important pet companies in a number of Asian countries. The pavilion will be where hosted buyers such as from Japan, Thailand and Korea as well as thousands of trade visitors can meet 20 or more expert suppliers of pet health products and pet foods.” Interactive training seminar An interactive training seminar for pet food professionals, veterinarians and consumer advisers completes the satellite features when it is held on Saturday 18th March. It is a full-day Pet Health and Nutrition Course, taking place in Bangkok and led by Anton Beynen, which will examine the positioning statements and health claims made about pet foods. Among important questions is whether common positioning descriptions such a natural and holistic stand up to scrutiny, attendees will hear. Equally, is there a competitive advantage if, for example, a pet food is grain-free or contains no meat meal? What is the efficacy of veterinary therapeutic foods and how valid are health benefits claimed for functional food ingredients? Booming pet food industry “A key part of the scenario for the Pet Health and Nutrition satellite is that Asia’s pet food industry is booming,” Zhenja Antochin remarks. “Its current value is estimated at 9 billion US dollars, but its growth in places

If you want to escape the busy and chaotic streets of Bangkok, but want to experience the city in a different way, then the rooftop bars are an nice option. This way you can see the city from a different view. We have made a selection of rooftop bars which are incredible to experience. Vertigo and Moon Bar is located on the 61st floor of the Banyan Tree hotel. With an unusual narrow and elongated shape, the entire top of the building is occupied by both the bar and the restaurant and gives the unusual impression of being aboard a spaceship in the sky. What makes the rooftop so incredible is that there is nothing above you so you can enjoy the view. The atmosphere is relaxed and there is enough place to sit and enjoy! Sky bar rooftop at Lebua Strate Tower offers one of the bests views of the city. It is 63 floors up and overlooking the river, it has become a must-do for a sundowner cocktail. The bar is one of the most famous rooftop bars in Bangkok. It will be crowded with people, but it will be an experience you won’t forget.
Floating Market In Bangkok there is also the option to go and visit the Saduak Floating Market. In a traditional long-tail boat with your own captain you will paddle between hundreds of boats selling fresh produce, souvenirs and delicious Thai food. It is possible to go on a tour. The market is open daily from 06.00 a.m. till 10.00 a.m. Parks To escape the busy street life of Bangkok there are a lot of different parks you can go to and relax. Wake up early with the sunrise and join the free Tai Chi lessons which are held in de different parks in Bangkok. Massage Like a lot of Asian countries Thailand is known for their massages. If you have the chance, go to a spa and experience a traditional Thais massage. A place you can go to is the Oasis Spa.
Cloud 47 is the latest addition to Bangkok’s amazing rooftop race. The bar is located on the top of the United Center office. Cloud 47 is quite different from any other rooftop bar. Usually is is all posh and glitzy, with drink prices list as high as the building, but here prices are surprisingly friendly. The atmosphere is casual and a beer cost no more than 160 baht. The location is right in the center of popular Silom Road, just past the famous Patpong night market. Long table is one of the cooler sky bar’s in the city. It has the larger tables where 70 people can enjoy typical Thai food that tastes and looks incredible. Bluesky is a stylish and intimate rooftop bar and restaurant in the northern part of Bangkok on top of the Centara Grand Lad Prao Hotel. Due to the location on the 24th floor, Blue Sky offers uninterrupted views of downtown Bangkok. The unique view is one of the major selling points of Blue Sky. One has the opportunity to have an nice dinner, but later in the evening the rooftop will change into a club and once a month there is a Full moon party.

We have also made a slection of different restaurants where you can have dinner after a long day. Bangkok is known for its excellent quality of street food. But there are a lot of local restaurants where you can have dinner. Restaurant Khin Lom Chom Saphan, is located in the Phara Noakhon district of Bangkok. This open air Thai restaurant is situated on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, Beinig so close too the water it is obvious that the star on the menu are freshwater fishes. The restaurant is open every day and service is between 11.00 till 02.00. Street buffet Rambuttri Road, here you can experience the real street food. You will start with rice and may add any of the exotic choices of typical Thai dishes. This is where the adventure begins.This restaurant will service from 18.00 till 22.00 Likhit Kai Yang, located just behind RatchadamnoenStadium. This decade old restaurant is where locals come for a northeastern-Thai-stye meal. The English speaking owner will help you through the ordering process. LikhitKai Yang is open and serving between 9 am till 9 pm. Kura Apsorn, this is a comfortable inviting dining room. The main dishes come from central and southern Thailand which are very tasty . This restaurant is a favourite of members of the Thai Royal family. The restaurant is open form 10.30 am until 20.00 pm form Monday till Saterday.
