Imagine a magical world, where lightness is magnified by brilliance. A world where the greatest wonders and elements join forces to bring unprecedented beauty to all it bestows. A world where reality and fantasy live as one. Welcome to the wonderful world of Winston. From deep within the earth to land, sea and sky, in Winston’s world nature’s most magnificent creations mingle in an ecosystem full of luminosity and life. Extraordinary gemstones are expertly paired and arranged in symbolic designs that foreshadow the fascination that lies ahead. Glistening flowers, set with star sapphires, ruby and a cat’s eye chrysoberyl, nestle against a majestic green meadow, where cornflower blue snakes and purple butterflies roam. A neighboring babbling brook is home to fluttering fish and graceful ducks, while bejeweled birds perched high in the skies above sing with delight. It is a harmonious world where beauty knows no bounds. For its latest high jewelry collection, entitled Marvelous Creations, the House of Harry Winston pays tribute to its enduring muse, Mother Nature, and celebrates a truly mesmerizing world with one-of-a-kind designs that bring the natural world to life.
Bal Harbour Shops | Miami Design District
DEEP within the EARTH From deep within our planet’s core, some of nature’s most glorious treasures are unearthed. Precious gemstones, of unmatched beauty, are brought to life by the House’s team of experts through incredible techniques in artisanship and design. These extraordinary stones are fundamental to Harry Winston – especially those with unique characteristics that separate them from others within its family. For Marvelous Creations, the House explored gemstones that exhibit a rare trait, possessed by very few, a remarkable phenomenon known as asterism – a natural occurrence that allows stones to exhibit a star-shaped motif on its surface.
From LAND On land, magnificent creatures mingle in a world of beauty and bliss. A blue python high jewelry suite comprised of a necklace, earrings, bracelet and high jewelry timepiece, slithers with the elegance and fluidity of its namesake. Blue sapphires, along with diamonds, are set side-by-side in order to mimic the scaly pattern of a python’s skin, while the complementing high jewelry timepiece features hand-cut tapered baguette diamonds around the dial along with varying shades of blue sapphires.
To WATER The tranquility of a lake nestled against a meadow is echoed in a diamond and ruby brooch inspired by the graceful movement of a betta fish. One of the more complex pieces within the collection, the Betta Fish brooch can be worn in multiple ways, as the diamond fins, much like its inspiration, fan in and out depending on the preference of its wearer.

SKIES ABOVE Harry Winston’s Marvelous Creations reach the skies high above with a series of bejeweled birds. Six brooches, each with their own unique construction, are three-dimensional replicas of their individual namesakes. A Black Necked Crane brooch with hand carved onyx and diamond cluster wings captures the avifauna’s motion mid-flight. A Kingfisher and Hummingbird are portrayed through diamonds, emeralds, rubies, and yellow diamonds, while the Blue Magpie brooch features hand carved black onyx and a tourmaline center stone. The majestic peacock, with its long flowing train, emerges from the shadows in two colorways – emeralds, blue sapphires and diamonds, as well as with pink diamonds, rubies, pink sapphires and diamonds. A pair of Falconry Legacy cufflinks and a complementing gold fountain pen, mounted with an emerald-cut diamond complete the set.

GILLES DYAN Founder and Chairman of Opera Gallery Group The Opera Gallery adventure began over 25 years ago, in 1994, when our two first exhibition spaces opened simultaneously in Paris and in Singapore with the aim of showing international emerging artists alongside masters of contemporary and modern art. Thanks to an incredible community of collectors, artists, supporters and my outstanding Opera Gallery staff, we have, along the years, expanded to include twelve further spaces in prime locations around the world: in New York, Miami, Miami Bal Harbour, Aspen, London, Monaco, Geneva, Dubai, Beirut, Hong Kong and Seoul. We present work across all media including painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, photography and video and we seek to cultivate the lineages that run between emerging and established artists. We represent over twenty international young and emerging artists such as Andy Denzler, Fred Eerdeckens or Lita Cabellut and mid-career more established artists such as Manolo Valdés, André Brasilier or Hermann Nitsch. We also deal in private sales on the secondary market informed by decades of connoisseurship and we are proud to have placed historically- significant works by artists such as Marc Chagall, Pablo Picasso, Pierre Soulages, Alexander Calder, Jean Dubuffet, Fernando Botero and many more. Since our inception, we have strived to offer museums, foundations and art collectors unique access to an incredible selection of Modern and Contemporary artists through an exciting programme of curated exhibitions in each of our locations and in high profile art fairs. In addition to the exhibitions, we are fully dedicated in working closely with our collectors to build their collections, locating works of art, and providing art advisory services. The gallery also facilitates museum exhibitions, special projects, and commissions of largescale, site-specific sculptures for both public and private collections. We are fully dedicated to bringing with integrity and discretion only the best of modern and contemporary works to each of our collectors.
“
We have fourteen galleries, and are in great demand for other locations. – GILLES DYAN

Welcome to Acqualina
AS TOGETHER WE CELEBRATE THE BEGINNING OF 2022 Greeting another year is always a wonderfully reflective time. It’s a collective opportunity to start anew, set goals, turn a page with intentions and take stock of the year ahead. For us, it also meant refreshing our magnificent spaces, as you’ll read about with the spectacular new hotel gallery and condominium lobbies. You’ll read how we kept the grand architectural elements and used rare and opulent materials to craft relaxing gathering spaces. Not to be outdone, we’re unveiling the late Karl Lagerfeld’s lobby in The Estates South Tower and giving you a behind-the-scenes look at all the ornate details the creative genius poured into this bespoke project. We’ll also introduce you to the highly anticipated Avra restaurant opening there. Because a new year is equally about creating the best in ourselves, you’ll read about The Spa’s new resultsoriented collagen facials and treatments from The Swissline that revive the skin and generate radiant luminosity. To complete the mind-body wellness circle, we share some of Acqualina’s special outdoor services that provide an extra level of pampering and take you on a tour of the resort’s restaurants. From the sublime oceanfront Costa Grill to romantic Il Mulino New York and Japanese fusion hotspot Ke-uH, Acqualina’s restaurants are dining destinations. Our operating philosophy has always been about connections – with each other and our guests. You’ll read about the cornerstone of our success and the reason for our global accolades in the Team Member section, where we always profile a few of our outstanding staff who greet every day as an opportunity to create memorable guest stays through their genuine care and personal attention. Finally, the innovative AcquaTalks series we created for brokers and the business community is all about learning, growing and creating meaningful connections. The New Year is off to an impressive start. From our family to yours, we wish you a healthy and happy 2022. Deborah Yager Fleming | CEO and Partner Acqualina Resort & Residences

TRANSFORMING ACQUALINA’S
MEDITERRANEAN
VILLA LOBBIES
The elegant, bespoke renovation of Acqualina’s Mediterranean villa-inspired gallery and lobbies will be unveiled in the coming months, transporting guests to the Italian Riviera with new, sumptuous finishes.

details make perfection and perfection is more than a detail, then Acqualina’s lobby transformation is a study in artistic mastery. In a little over a year, resplendent new hotel gallery and condominium lobbies are nearing completion, using the rarest, most refined materials sourced throughout the world. From bespoke rugs to richly veined marble, custom-pearlized wall treatments to hand-tooled leather chairs, no detail was too insignificant to elevate Acqualina’s original grandeur into a newly refined masterpiece.
Jules and Stephanie Trump were visionaries in creating a chic arrival experience when the lobbies were originally unveiled, melding the Italian Riviera with a new “Florida Riviera.” It was so authentic in its style that film icon Sophia Lauren gave her glamorous nod of approval.

Fifteen years later, Stephanie Trump says “as our brand evolved, it was time to cautiously modernize our beautiful villa and yet keep the magnificent bones of our beloved galleria and condominium lobbies.” She carefully steered fresh updates with STA Architectural Group to maintain Acqualina’s original splendor while enriching its elegant design. A painstaking collection of fine finishes gave the lobbies new life: rare quartzite marble was unearthed to complement rich green marble behind the reception desk, stained oak millwork was polished to its original luster, soaring Corinthian and Doric columns popped with lustrous white paint, and round latticed wall medallions reflect natural sunlight that streams through newly unshaded windows.
Stepping into Acqualina will always transport guests to a rich, dramatic Italian Riviera villa, now with a brighter, lighter sensation.
The spaces will be even more beautiful and provide a warm welcome and a gathering place for our hotel guests and residents. says Acqualina CEO, Deborah Yager Fleming.

l Mulino New York serves as a beacon for food lovers, a destination on its own evoking the taste and feel of the Mediterranean at its best. Italian fare is served by a warm, accommodating staff at the restaurant’s elegant whitelinen main room, or an intimate al fresco experience at the outdoor terrace, framed by one of the hotel’s three pools and seashore. The all-day service, including a la carte breakfast and Sunday brunch, boasts satisfying options covering meat, seafood, and a hearty selection of pasta. The icing on the cake is the torta di cioccolato, a dessert marrying the sweet comfort of creamy chocolate and the richness of a traditional Italian cake.

The Mediterranean-inspired menu is a true labor of love for the hotel’s culinary team providing a masterfully curated selection of dishes as well as healthy options designed to accommodate special dietary needs. A fun gourmet picnic experience is also at hand, featuring a captivating spread of items like squash and orzo salad and Hawaiian tuna poke, chocolate-covered strawberries, and a selection of cheeses and fruits.
Beachside food service rounds out the bevy of gastronomical experiences, with flavorful lunch fare and crowd-pleasing snacks, offered all day in biodegradable, to-go containers made from sugarcane. The beachfront dinner menu is designed with something for everyone to savor, including ceviche, Greek salad, center-cut beef tenderloin, lobster, and sand sea bass to pair with fine wines and vibrant cocktails.

Cabana
The
Life
By Erica Corsano
Water, in any form, is transportive. It’s healing, restorative, and relaxing. Just think of yourself poolside gazing at the sunlit, glistening, aqua blue water, hypnotized. A famous Slim Aaron’s vintage photo might come to mind or perhaps an abstract David Hockney painting. Wherever that moment takes you, it’s a peaceful vortex to an alternate reality which knows not of space and time,

only elemental peace. Part of that escape may require the occasional glass of rosé, waterside nibbles, and most importantly, sunscreen. Enter in the Cabana service at the three pools at Acqualina—including brand new luxury, next-level cabanas at the adults-only pool. Fabiana Lander is the Pool and Beach Manager at the esteemed Acqualina Resort. She says the private Cabana is an extension of your luxury hotel room.

We provide a personalized poolside experience unlike any other. I like to describe it as your hotel room poolside or beachside. Your room away from your room… Some of those premium amenities include your choice of still or sparkling water, a fresh fruit bowl, towel flowers and swans, a TV, mini fridge and your own server. plate or on cooler days, a hot chocolate and marshmallows. With that kind of divine set up, who would ever want to leave? Lander says that guests will often spend the entire day there lounging, swimming, checking out the beach and then coming back to cabana home base. “Guests sometimes enjoy sunrise to sunset and truly enjoy the full day,” Lander says. If little ones are in tow, the resort has services that specially cater to kiddos. A variety of toys, boogie boards, goggles, balls (and more) are at their disposal, as well as familyoriented activities scheduled daily like kite flying, football, soccer, volleyball and more. There are also portable cribs, complimentary sunscreen, magazines, and even swim diapers available as well. The family pool is designed with a zero degree entry, gradually getting deeper which makes it easy for toddlers and young kids (who can’t swim yet) to splash in. For kids who are ready,

ACQUALINA SPA REALIGNS ITSELF WITH POST-COVID GUEST NEEDS, FROM EXTRA AMENITIES TO NEW SERVICES AND PRODUCTS FOR THE BEST AND BRIGHTEST YOU. By Samantha Brooks

or some, the most difficult parts of enduring the pandemic were missing out on life’s little pleasures—including pampering and self-care. “Even when the spas re-opened, you were still deprived of the extra level of indulgences with little things like the amenity bars in the relaxation lounges being taken away,” says Acqualina Spa’s director Catherine Davalle. “Now, we have a new customized experience where we personally deliver something to our guests every 30 to 60 minutes. It might be a lavenderscented towel, frozen grapes, or chocolate-covered graham crackers. We really are focused on enhancing the guest experience in every way we can.”
74
To that end, Acqualina Spa has also enhanced its treatment menu with services designed to target recovery and results. Whether it’s losing sleep from stress during the pandemic, getting injured due to working out at home without a trainer, or just looking at themselves for hours on end over Zoom, guests will be able to find a variety of cures and services to suit modern-day needs. “We’ve always had Ayurvedic treatments and sound healing, which is great for the mind-body element, but we also now have recovery treatments with a Cryo T-shock therapy machine and Hypervolt,” says Davalle. “On the beauty side, a lot of people are looking for quick results. We just started using a new line from Switzerland that is based in cellular therapy. We have one treatment that involves a collagen sheet mask and another one with Cryo Shock treatment that does firming, lifting, and reduces puffiness.”

Down the line, Acqualina Spa will continue to develop additional treatments with Swissline, as well as introduce exciting new collaborations to always adapt and evolve to the latest stresses, situations, and needs brought on by both the pandemic and everyday life.

Acqualina
FROM THE RESERVATIONS PROCESS THROUGH THE FINAL DEPARTURE, ACQUALINA RESORT’S GUEST EXPERIENCE MANAGER (GEM) VICTORIA BILENKO IS DEDICATED TO ENSURING ALL GUESTS EXPERIENCE UNPARALLELED LUXURY FIVE-STAR SERVICE. By Sherri Balefsky Hanson
Where are you from? I am originally from Cherkasy, Ukraine.
What do you tell guests is a must-do during their stay at Acqualina? If you’re with someone special, don’t miss experiencing a romantic beachfront dinner for two. It’s like a fairy tale come true! Acqualina Spa is also a highlight, offering a variety of amazing treatments, plus a private pool and Jacuzzi to relax and recharge.
When I have the opportunity to create that special moment or speechless experience, it makes me just as happy as – if not happier than – the guest!
Where is the best spot at Acqualina for a photo op? The Front Lawn. It’s a beautiful setup with the signature red Acqualina couches overlooking the crystal-blue waters and the gorgeous resort in the backdrop. The view is absolutely breathtaking.
How do you make sure that you are always exceeding guest expectations? At this level of hospitality and service, it’s not about giving them what they ask for. It’s about anticipating their needs and knowing more about what they love. When I have the opportunity to create that special moment or speechless experience, it makes me just as happy as – if not happier than – the guest! Victoria Bilenko

A Second Family CLAUDIA GAIS, ASSISTANT RESIDENCE MANAGER AT THE MANSIONS AT ACQUALINA, IS DEDICATED TO ENSURING THAT ALL RESIDENTS RECEIVE WARM, WELCOMING, FIVE-STAR SERVICE AT EVERY TURN. By Sherri Balefsky Hanson
Where are you from? I was born in the beautiful city of Brasov, Romania. When did you join the Acqualina team? July 2015. It was the best decision I ever made! Describe a typical day on the job. Aside from administrative work, my days consist of engaging with residents and ensuring all their requests and desires are fulfilled. What would you say is residents’ favorite thing about living at The Mansions? It’s no secret how beautiful the property is; however, most compliments from residents and their guests are about our staff and service. If you lived at The Mansions, where would you most likely be found among the luxurious amenities? I’d be by the Great Lawn on one of the couches enjoying the ocean view. Tell us something not many people know about The Mansions. Most people don’t know about the art around the property. For example, we have two bronze sculptures, “Loma” and “Venice Angel,” by artist Guy Dill; each is 12 feet tall and weighs over 1,000 pounds. They possess the anthropomorphic presence of bodies in motion, lifting and spinning lightly and elegantly in space.

Claudia Gais
Where is the best spot at The Mansions for a photo op? In front of our infinity pool, next to the iconic artwork that moves with the wind. At sunset and dawn, you can capture the sun through the art piece’s circle. What is the best part about working at The Mansions? Our residents. What are you most excited for residents to experience at The Estates? Jeff: I can’t wait to see the looks on their faces when they see the finished product – and, of course, I look forward to building relationships with them for years to come. Alex: I am excited for them to experience our service; the amenities are spectacular, but it’s the team that will make this property special. I also can’t wait for them to see Circus Maximus, which will be that eye-catching area everyone wants to show off to their guests.
Jeff Giasson
Where are you from? Jeff: Oklahoma. Alex: Marietta, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta. You were previously the Director of Residences at The Mansions. How does your current role compare? Jeff: The roles are similar in that the goal is always to provide five-star service. The roles differ since The Estates is brand new and triple the size of The Mansions with an ice-skating rink, a FlowRider surfing simulator, a bowling alley, the spectacular Avra Estiatorio open to the public, and more. Describe your role at Acqualina. Alex: Once residents move in, my entire focus will be customer service. I will be walking the
If you lived at The Estates, where would you most likely be found? Jeff: I haven’t bowled in years, so I would have to try that out. I’d also enjoy an amazing meal at Avra, then watch a movie in the cinema. Alex: I would be in the golf simulator. You can play every golf course you can think of! What is the best part about working at Acqualina? Alex: The best part of working at Acqualina is the team. Everyone loves their job and dedicates their days to making someone else’s day special. Where is the best spot at The Estates for a selfie? Jeff: Avra’s outdoor terrace with the pools, ocean, and beautiful landscaping backdrop is tough to beat! Alex Mendel

hen legendary designer Karl Lagerfeld died in 2019, the world lost one of its most prolific creative masterminds.
The outspoken enigma who dressed in all black with signature gloves, sunglasses and white hair pulled into a sleek pony led the creative vision at Fendi for five decades before reviving Chanel into a globally relevant brand. The world presumed Lagerfeld’s work, like him, was permanently retired. What most didn’t realize was that Jules Trump, himself a creative visionary, commissioned Lagerfeld to design unmatched lobbies for the two-tower Estates at Acqualina, dubbed “The World’s Finest Residences.” It would be Lagerfeld’s final and most permanent performance, and one for which Jules had a specific goal: “Lagerfeld is a master of creating a mood and eliciting an emotion and that’s what I was seeking,” says Jules. “When you think about his fashion shows, they took you on journeys that were both cerebral and visceral that seduced and created desire and this is what he created with our lobbies – the ultimate tableau to arouse a sense of arrival.”

IS
AND THAT’S WHAT I WAS SEEKING – Jules Trump
A breathtaking arrival is heralded in the South Tower, beginning with a 61-foot long, backlit glass mural entitled “A Tale of Two Fountains,” an original, jaw-dropping collage of black and white photos Lagerfeld snapped of Rome’s most striking fountains. Trump Group Senior Vice President James Sikich oversaw the painstaking installation that involved European artisans, imported machinery, collaboration with Lagerfeld friend Gerhard Steidl and collectively held breaths as two elaborate murals rose to perfection. “Each glass panel is fire-etched in a kiln with ceramic ink, and all components shipped from Germany,” says Sikich. “One set of 15 glass panes are each 10 feet high x 4 feet wide and collectively the entire artwork mural weighs almost five tons,” he avers. A second lobby mural is 24 feet long by 10 feet high and required the same meticulous attention. “A professional rigging company carefully moved all the components into the building, while the Germany companies that created the glass and steel fabrication both flew in for the complex assembly and installation,” explains Sikich about the delicate operation.

Underfoot, skilled craftsmen hand-laid Lagerfeld’s geometric, hammeredaluminum tiles. They fade into a Bisazza glass mosaic “carpet” at the base of marble fountains for floors that undulate, shimmer and draw the eye upwards to silver leaf-finished walls and a Venetian plaster ceiling. Cast-aluminum swans glide above banquettes swathed in rich silver pearl fabric, providing an elegant spot for repose. Acid-etched tempered glass columns and cast aluminum quoins create tactile complexity, particularly when illuminated by custom Lagerfelddesigned chandeliers. Always slightly edgy, Lagerfeld fashioned elevator interiors in chain mail within laminated glass. As the iconic designer noted when undertaking the project, “Lobbies serve two purposes: they are the first impression of a building and a common living room for socializing.” Delicate,

is a transportive experience. Not only do these luxurious residences exude a unique brand of glamour, which redefines the concept of luxury living, they also transport you to the Mediterranean by way of both subtle hints and decadent accents. It’s no surprise that the South Tower on this magnificent development is sold out and did so in record time.
Toscana’s Master Bedroom
Managed by Acqualina Resort & Residences, ranked by TripAdvisor as the #1 luxury beachfront resort in the U.S., the South Tower was the brand’s newest addition to their already impressive residential buildings. Michael Goldstein, president of The Estates at Acqualina, has been with the company more than two decades. He says, that the Acqualina lifestyle residents are drawn to, the many amenities offered sold the tower.

“Villa Acqualina has 45,000 square feet of incredible amenities… from bowling lanes and a billiard room to an ice skating rink and private nightclub, you name it, we have it,” he exclaims. Goldstein isn’t exaggerating. From the playful and high-tech to the relaxing and entertaining, there is something for everyone. A movie theater, spa and fitness facility called AcquaFit, Wall Street Trader’s Club Room, golf and Formula One simulators, a cigar lounge, and so much more await residents.

Beyond the Villa are two and a half acres of outdoor spaces residents can enjoy. Zero-entry, infinity-edge and adults-only pools, a FlowRider® surfing simulator, soccer field, basketball, walking and jogging trails, a dog park, and cabanas give new meaning to fun in the sun. But Goldstein says that while the amenities are the highlight, it’s the highlevel of service that attracts luxury real estate buyers. “It’s a combination of all those offerings combined with the impeccable service,” says Goldstein. Other key factors are the size and scale of the residences and their overall interior design and premium finishing. A lobby designed by the late, great Karl Lagerfeld adds to the allure. The buyer profile for this type of real estate has changed over the years and especially in recent months. “As a result of COVID, people now want a self-contained community where they have everything in one place,” says Goldstein. The tower caters to many families and young buyers.

NEW YORK’S LEGENDARY AVRA RESTAURANT OPENING SOON AT THE ESTATES AT ACQUALINA.

THE estates at acqualina
Avra’s Managing Director Andreas Tsavos, and Executive Chef Jose Diaz share their first-hand look at what’s to come when Avra estiatorio opens later this year at the ultra-luxe waterfront resort and residential complex, The Estates at Acqualina. Avra will be an European-inspired restaurant and urban oasis for residents, visitors, and locals to relish.
Andreas Tsavos
For the uninitiated, what’s special about Avra? Andreas Tsavos: It started in 2001 in Midtown Manhattan as a Greek seafood restaurant, a collaboration between Nick Tsoulos, Nick Pashalis and Marc Packer. The business lunch scene was always busy, but then there was a trendier crowd in the evening. In 2014, they expanded to Madison Avenue in a larger location, and then to Beverly Hills in 2016. All of the locations are known for their seafood display, and the color tones and décor are reminiscent of the Greek Isles. It’s a very authentic Mediterranean experience in prime city setting. We’ve spent 2 to 3 years looking for places to open in Miami, and when The Estates at Acqualina became available, we knew it was the right fit. Also, it will be our first location with sea views.
How will Avra complement the Acqualina experience?
92
Andreas Tsavos: The Estates at Acqualina itself as well as the stunning location, is one of a kind. Acqualina Resort has been there for 15+ years and is known for its excellence and service. The Estates at Acqualina is the world’s finest residences, and now they’ll have the world’s finest food.
Anything special that you’ll only be able to find at Avra at The Estates at Acqualina? Chef Jose Diaz: About 80% of the menu is standard across all of our locations, and 20% is specific to South Florida— mostly things in the raw bar. The table experience will be a bit different, and the seafood will be in larger pieces. We’ll bring it right next to the table and portion it. We will also do a nice tableside steak dish that’s large enough to share.
What is exciting about the menu? Chef Jose Diaz: As a brand, we’re very true to the Greek heritage, and we fly a lot of fish in from the Mediterranean, as well as source from local Florida vendors, and we’ve added grouper and red snapper here. Primarily, our brand is focused on natural elements and the freshness of the ingredients. Even our meats and lambs are always well-sourced and super fresh. Our kitchens don’t hold things for a long time, and everything is made fresh to order. Additionally, the olive oil is made especially for us; it is an excellent quality olive oil. The extra virgin olive oil is cold-pressed, and we get it from the Greek island of Crete, so there is a different acidity level. When we chose it, we did our research, and we think it’s perfect. It’s not too acidic and pairs well with anything. We put it in salads, we make dressing with it, we emulsify it with lemon and put it on our whole fish dish. Andreas Tsavos: I’m Greek myself, and this is how we eat—very seasonal too. You can find things at any time of year now, but cooking seasonally is always the best. Just like our ancestors did. Most of our menu is based on sharing and family-style eating from the salad and the appetizers to even the whole fish—which we recommend for a party of two or four to share. We also have smaller fish and dishes to cater to those who want four individual courses.

ACQUATALKS: INNOVATIVE ONLINE SERIES FORGES CONNECTIONS WITH PROMINENT BUSINESS LEADERS. By Michelle Payer
Original monthly forum opens opportunities for real estate brokers and industry professionals to communicate, learn and grow with the country’s most prominent business leaders.
Rewind the clock to 2018 when The Estates at Acqualina was a vision of elevated luxury, supported by architecture and design renderings, elegant descriptions, and Jules, Stephanie, and Eddie Trump’s philosophy of making people feel special. A cornerstone of that philosophy was deepening the project’s connection with a broker community who would present The Estates to the world. The Trumps wanted to create meaningful synergy and tapped Acqualina’s Vice President of Communications, Alexandra Wensley, to define how. In 2018, Wensley launched and began hosting AcquaTalks, an original in-person – and then, beginning in 2020, online – educational series for real estate brokers and the business community to talk, connect and share ideas with prominent guest speakers – with topics that would resonate with them.
94
“It’s all about learning and continuing to grow and being successful in their own fields, and for real estate brokers to sell better, to be successful as brokers and connect with sought-after speakers,” says Wensley. “That’s the ultimate thing – the connection.”
With production engineer Nate Lerfelt, Wensley hosts and moderates monthly one-hour forums that have gained popularity for their format (Wednesdays, 11 a.m., 20-30-minute guest speaker, 30-minute Q&A) and topics that have included Turning your Pain into Petrol: How to Pivot and Thrive with New York power broker Holly Parker; How to Email Better to Drive Sales and Connect2Thrive with master connector and author Lou Diamond and Power Habits for Ultimate Success with Noah St. John. Wensley gathered Seth Kaufman, Bento Queiroz, and Darin Tansey for a Miami Power Brokers Panel, and when Covid-19 first surfaced and people confined themselves at home, she wrangled South Florida celebrity chef Michelle Bernstein for an online Chef-Driven Cooking Demonstration.

That’s the ultimate thing – the connection. – Alexandra Wensley Vice President of Communications
Wensley’s weekly AcquaTalks creates introductions, opens dialogue, builds relationships, and helped the Estates achieve record sales through an innovative pre-opening tool that drove connections. AcquaTalks is free and open to the public, with invitations posted on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram @Estates at Acqualina.
“The broker community is so important with all our real estate developments, so to connect with them and give back was paramount,” says Wensley. “For us at Acqualina, every day, it’s all about learning and growing, and that’s what we wanted to provide our brokers.”
