In the projector lamp industry for many years, I learned a lot of information of lamps, the first type: OEM, the top quality, from the box to the lamp housing, and bulb, all from original factory, same as the lamp that in your projector, but really too expensive. The second type: OWH, original Philips or osram bulb in the generic housing, for this type lamp, the bulb is same as the OEM, the housing is made by the third party, so that quality is same as OEM, but price may be just half or more less than OEM. The third type is CWH/CM compatible bulb with housing, this type lamp is from the housing and bulb and the box all from the third party factory, the quality can not be control, some are good quality, some are bad.

Let’s to compare these 3 types: OEM of course the quality standard , but the OWH have the same performance with it, so that of course will be beaten by the OWH. Now, let’s compare OWH and CWH, According to my experience to understand, both of them, all can be choose by end user, but of course depend on what the user need. CWH, the low price has its absolute competitive advantage. Let’s to discus the situation of the market: about OWH, the more and more user from USA and Europe to choose this, because the quality is reliable, user should not worry their bulb’s brightness not enough or the lamp life is too short, and the most important is that much cheaper than OEM(but still higher than the CWH). And now let’s talk about the CWH, According to my research, I've found no matter like USA only pursuit of low price, but also in the Europe pursuit of the cost –effective, the CWH’s demand is rising. Then the question come, For some big American dealers I found that, they sell the CWH very low price, very very low price, but some BBS or blog show that, there are many negative comment for these low price CWH, and they leave message to suggest others don’t buy lamps from the dealer.

This means the CWH is low price , but quality is very bad. Then we ask

the dealer why the bad quality happen, then they said the products buy from some China and Taiwan factory, the quality not good, and then we try to contact the factory from China and Taiwan, finally, we get some results, we found that there is the contradiction between the supplier and the USA dealers, the dealers want the lowest price for the cost of the lamps, then the supplier want to win the market, of course they only can use the poor quality material to produce. This way leads to manufacturer dealers sell defective goods to the United States, U.S. dealers sell defective goods to end users. how sad a cycle.
