reating a business from the ground up is no small endeavor. From planning to financing to putting standard business services in place, there’s a lot to tackle. All of that is in addition to operating the day-today business. To overcome these obstacles, franchising is an ideal solution for many aspiring business owners. It provides the advantages of business ownership, but with the added support of a recognized brand and an established method of doing business. Partnering with a franchise like The UPS Store offers numerous benefits. Flexibility. Opening a franchise allows you to enjoy the freedom and flexibility of making your own business decisions and being your own boss, while working toward your goals of personal and financial independence at your own pace. Start-up resources. Getting a new business off the ground
requires a wide range of activity, from site selection and lease negotiation to hiring and training staff. A franchise can help you navigate these early decisions and needs with a deep pool of experience and knowledge to help overcome the hurdles you may encounter. Training. Even a well-educated business owner has room to learn. With a franchise, you have the opportunity to receive in-depth training in areas such as business operations, technical systems, human resources, marketing and financial management. Networking opportunities. Connecting with other franchisees at area meetings, regional conferences and national conventions helps you stay informed of industry trends, discover new tools and resources, and develop lasting relationships with fellow franchisees. The result is a peer group that has intimate knowledge of your business model that can serve as a valuable resource as your business grows.
Product development. Part of developing your business is understanding your customers’ needs and introducing new products and solutions. As a franchise owner, you can contribute insight to the process but focus on running your business while development experts dedicate themselves to researching and innovating new products and services that can help you better serve your customers. Marketing support. Many franchises conduct national advertising campaigns to build brand awareness, while regional efforts and local store marketing can build excitement in your market. A layered marketing plan extends the reach of your marketing budget and lends credibility to your business. Financing assistance. Funding your franchise according to your unique goals and background can help eliminate many of the financial pitfalls that those without experience or industry expertise may encounter. A Milestone Accomplishment
5 Tips for Creating a Business Plan Once you’ve settled on a business model that meets your needs, developing a business plan is an essential next step. These five tips can help you get started: n Think
A focus on small business is driving big results for one national retailer. The nation’s largest franchise system of retail shipping, print and business service centers, The UPS Store, Inc., is now 5,000 locations strong. “The UPS Store network is made up of dedicated individuals and families who are committed to serving small business owners, customers and their communities,” said Chris Adkins, vice president of franchise development for The UPS Store. “We look forward to welcoming more franchisees into our network as we continue to challenge ourselves to find new ways we can bring convenience and value to our customers.” Over the years, the retail concept has expanded to include a range of solutions for small business owners, creating a one-stop shop for small-business support. Small business owners can find resources such as notary services, shredding, mailbox and locker rental, and, in some cases, even inventory management solutions, as well as the packing and shipping services that business and non-business customers alike can utilize.
long-term. A solid business plan should account for your start-up, of course, but also the longer range future of your operations. Consider how you want your business to look five years down the road. Create goals and build in milestones to chart your progress on that longterm path. n Write it yourself. No one can embrace your vision as completely as you can and developing the plan yourself gives you a deep understanding of every aspect of the business, which is essential for good management. Even if you hand over certain responsibilities down the road, being aware of each aspect of your business can make you a stronger, more successful leader. n Review the plan over time. Know that time brings change. The business climate and other variables that influenced your original plan will likely shift over the course of your ownership. That’s why it’s important to revisit your plan at least annually to ensure your original roadmap is still on the right track strategically. n Share your plan with others. Inviting input from an adviser or experienced friend or colleague is a great way to spur new ideas and identify potential problem areas. Be sure you’re prepared to accept constructive criticism to help shape the best possible business plan. n Stick to it. After all the sweat equity you invest in creating your business plan, the worst thing you can do is allow it to collect dust on a shelf. Use the plan to guide you in launching and growing your business. When business is booming and you’re too busy to think strategically, you’ll be grateful to have a well-conceived plan to rely upon.

BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY THE BEST SECURITY FOR BUSINESS? by Vikki Jones
What is Blockchain Technology? ‘Blockchain is, quite simply, a digital, decentralized ledger that keeps a record of all transactions that take place across a peer-to-peer network.’ - Pwc
Blockchain Technology is resistant to modification. Blockchain technology is the heart behind Bitcoin that protects and secures consumer data. Unlike data stored within a standard database, this data cannot be copied, deleted, or corrupted. Digitally stored information is not safe in the world today, but blockchain has the chance to change that. The technology “is an open, distributed ledger that can record transactions between two parties efficiently and in a verifiable and permanent way. The ledger itself can also be programmed to trigger transactions automatically (Iansiti & Lakhani, 2017).”
At the Economists’ 2019 Innovation Summit, Julie Sweet and Vijay Vaitheeswaran discussed blockchain relevancy in our economy and business transactions. Although continuing to gain popularity in the market, blockchain technology education and implementation often remain elusive for many professionals. Major corporations are only beginning to venture into blockchain territory. Walmart, for example, plans to begin its efforts to adopt blockchain in starting in September 2019 (Miller, 2018). Iansiti and Lakhani indicate that on a nationwide scale, “blockchain could slash the cost of transactions and reshape the economy (2017).”
Satoshi Nakamoto is the inventor of Bitcoin and the developer of the first blockchain database. Devised to rectify double spending on cryptocurrency and create dependable ledgers, blockchain technology has spread to health institutions, financial entities, and other societal corporations ("The great chain of being sure about things", 2015). Bitcoin & Cryptocurrency - The Future of Money? Technology only continues to advance and will soon introduce better methods for designing the next layer of When speaking to professionals, blockchain and security. Bitcoin go hand-in-hand. Why? What does Bitcoin have to do with blockchain technology? First, understand Bitcoin & Cryptocurrency - The Future of Money? 17
When speaking to professionals, blockchain and Bitcoin go hand-in-hand. Why? What does Bitcoin have to do with blockchain technology? First, understand exactly what Bitcoin is. Bitcoin, at its core, is the electronic version of printed money. The dollar became the USA’s monetary unit in 1785. As time progressed and technology blossomed, new forms of transactions dominated the dollar: debit/credit card, Apple Pay, CashApp, tap and go, and Bitcoin. The Department of the Treasury, the Internal Revenue Service, and other financial institutions came from the need for a centralized system to regulate currency. As it stands, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are decentralized and free of government regulation. Is it safe, and how is the money protected? That’s where blockchain comes in. New Age Spending Instead of cash or debit/credit cards, Bitcoin is intangible money. There are two major benefits of using Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies: 1. 2.
It places the power to control the money in the hands of the people. Money is more secure using cryptocurrency.
Even physical cash and cards are not as safe as cryptocurrency. The U.S. dollar faces counterfeiting threats. Credit card theft has become easy, even elementary. The U.S. Federal Reserve’s implemented security measures - watermarks, UV lights, and 3D Security Ribbon, etc. – only encouraged these new age options for spending. Blockchain Security for Bitcoin Currency Blockchain technology protects Bitcoin currency, leaving people with little to no concern for the safety and security of their money. Blockchain Luxembourg’s website lists three primary reasons for using Bitcoin. 1. “As a global currency you can send bitcoin to anyone, anywhere in the world without worrying about cross border remittance fees.” 2. “Keeping your bitcoin safe in a non-custodial wallet (like Blockchain’s) means there is no entity that can lock you out of your funds.” 3. “Bitcoin increases system efficiency and enables the provision of financial services at a drastically lower cost, giving users more power and freedom.”
Printing money is costly and using a credit card comes at a cost. Securely exchanging funds at little to no fee means that this innovative piece of technology may be worth the investment. News Reports on Blockchain Coindesk reports, “Albertsons Companies, the world’s second-largest supermarket company by sales, has joined IBM’s Food Trust blockchain, a digital system for tracking and tracing food between retailers and suppliers.” Walmart has been working with IBM on a food safety blockchain solution. Last year Walmart announced it will require that all suppliers of leafy green vegetables for Sam’s and Walmart upload their data to the blockchain by September 2019 (Miller, 2018). “Kroger stated on March 1 that 142 supermarkets and 108 fuel center locations would stop accepting Visa by April 3 in order to maintain low prices for customers. Kroger is saying no to high fees and drawing a line in the sand, leaving room for low-fee alternatives like Bitcoin Lightning Network payments to state their case (Maloney, 2019).”
Blood clots can affect anyone and may lead to significant health problems, but some people are at higher risk for life-threatening blood clots. One in four people worldwide die of conditions caused by blood clots, also known by the medical term “thrombosis. In fact, thrombosis is the third leading vascular diagnosis after heart attack and stroke, according to the American Heart Association.
5 Blood Clot Risk Factors
There are two types of life-threatening blood clots, also called venous thromboembolism (VTE). Deep vein thrombosis, or DVT, is a clot in a deep vein in the leg, arm or other large veins. A pulmonary embolism, or PE, occurs when a clot breaks free and travels to the lungs, blocking some or all of the blood supply. Although VTE can be fatal, many, if not most, cases are preventable. Talk with a health care provider to understand your risk and use this information from the American Heart Association to understand the circumstances that may lead to higher risk: Extended travel: Traveling longer than 8 hours, whether by plane, car, bus or train, can increase risks for life-threatening blood clots. Being seated for long periods can slow blood flow, and high altitudes can activate the body’s blood-clotting system. Consider wearing compression socks or finding time to stretch or walk around when traveling to aid in proper blood flow. E s t ro g e n - b a s e d b i r t h c o n t ro l : E s t r o g e n - b a s e d contraceptives can increase the risks for a life-threatening blood clot. Risks are present whether the estrogen is delivered into the blood stream with pills, a patch, an injection or a vaginal ring contraceptive. The risk is highest when first starting these prescriptions as the hormonal changes can cause blood cells to bind together more readily. Taking estrogen contraceptives can increase risks if you have factors such as inherited blood-clotting disorders, a family
history of blood clots, surgery, obesity or plans for prolonged travel. Recent hospital stays: Roughly 50 percent of life-threatening blood clots happen within three months of a hospitalization, surgery or traumatic injury, though only one in four adults knows that hospitalization is a risk factor for VTE. Hospital patients at the greatest risk are those with limited ability to move, people with previous history of blood clots, patients age 60 and older, people who have abnormal blood-clotting conditions and patients who have spent time in an intensive care or
coronary care unit. Pregnancy and childbirth: Pregnant women are at four times greater risk of a life-threatening blood clot than nonpregnant women. The risk increases after delivery. Blood clots cause approximately 10 percent of all maternal deaths in the United States, with pulmonary embolism being the leading cause. The blood-clotting system is activated during pregnancy to protect the woman from fatal bleeding during labor and delivery. In addition, the growing baby presses on the veins of the pelvis, slowing blood flow. Other risk factors for a blood clot during pregnancy and childbirth include inherited blood-clotting disorders, a history of blood clots, older age at the time of pregnancy, obesity, cesarean delivery and major bleeding after delivery. Cancer diagnosis: Cancer patients typically spend significant time in the hospital which often means they are lying still for long periods and are more likely to have surgery or receive chemotherapy, which also increases risks. Cancers in bones, ovaries, the brain or pancreas and lymph nodes are associated with the highest incidence of a lifethreatening blood clot. If you have concerns about your risk for blood clots, especially if you have multiple risk factors, consult with your health care provider about how to lower the risk. PHIL KNIGHT’S SHOE DOG A story of devotion, vision, belief, purpose, sacrifice and the finish line. NIKE. by Vikki Jones
I don’t know what prompted me to purchase Phil Knight’s book, entitled SHOE DOG, but I’m happy I did. I’m grateful for the time he took to write this book; the world needs it. He didn’t publish his journey for money, nor celebrity status. No, I suspect his reasoning for writing this book coincides with that of creating his brand, NIKE. I’d first like to say, Mr. Knight, thank you for sharing your story. I’m grateful because your words will guide me into the next phase of my life, towards my career and my purpose. Because of you, I’ve made a decision. No longer will I live my life wadded in a ball of stress and deprivation. Despite the success that we know NIKE has achieved, the founder, the brains behind NIKE, struggled on many occasions to keep the boat afloat. Even his wife Penny suffered but was determined to support the brand and her husband by simply being herself. I can visualize the scene of Penny changing a car tire, a man sitting in the car while she labors over the greasy chore; or her overwhelming anxiety, lethargy and sheer fatigue from the pressure of work, coupled with a 9-hour flight to Japan. I would have fallen over if a stranger, a business guest at my house, used my toothbrush as if it were his own. What a strong-minded, powerful woman. Phil, you must know it, but you married the right lady. After all I’ve learned, I have nothing but respect for her. I’ve found with successful business comes three S’s: Suffering Stress Sacrifice Mr. Knight and the shoe dogs are no exception. I don’t want to go through the strife that Phil Knight went through. So, I’m trying to avoid long flights, lethal competitors, financial crises, deadly marketing and the stress associated with the developing my brand. There must be other ways to accomplish my goal and impact the world without the nerve-wracking traditional consequences of being at the top. I’ve suffered for my work already. The reason I’m on this path of storytelling is that my family lived the story I wrote. Anyone that lives at any length does not lay on a bed of roses. No matter your situation, unkind feelings and challenges arise. I digress. I came to this place of books, magazines, media and video productions because of a life I’ve lived, which has
included a great deal of suffering. I’ve experienced some of the three S’s. From a practical, brand-building viewpoint, I’ve felt some of the same challenges as Phil Knight, Johnson and the other shoe dogs mentioned in his book. I can see the parallels in Phil’s work and how my company came to be. In the beginning, he borrowed $50 to get started. His friend simply dreamed of the name NIKE. In the beginning, I borrowed $50 to get started; I dreamed the name and colors for the book TRAUMA. That was the next step in my journey. Of course, that was 2005, but I can’t ignore the ‘ditto.’ He encountered tough funding decisions. People were speaking for him when the company was about to sink after a neglected or intentionally withheld payment that tanked bank accounts. NIKE’s record sales, growth year after year - a lack of cash seemed impossible. Aggressive demands for the products and shoes but no money – absurd. But Mr. Knight describes how this could possibly happen. At the height of success, the company faced increased funding issues. The pressure to meet the demand was intense, not to mention how to achieve such a feat - IPO, Bank Loans, etc. And on top of everything, the stress. He faced mountains such as competitors seeking to destroy, defame or slow his work. The ploys failed, but their ugly tactics seem highly unnecessary. Everyone can get a piece of the pie. Fighting, clawing and killing for the largest piece is unrealistic. I digress again. More positively, Phil’s life work employs over 10,000 people, has impacted the lives of professional athletes, brought change to manufacturing working conditions and is a historical example of a man with tenacity, faith, and good old-fashioned morals and principles. I think some people are destined, or perhaps selected, for greatness. They are equipped and built in a way that demands success. I also believe these elected individuals are aided with the ‘right’ people that are made for success as well. Such is the case with this story. Before reading this book, I wasn’t necessarily a NIKE supporter, but NIKE stands for something. That ‘swoosh’ deserves respect and should be worn with pride. NIKE is exemplary. Knight built it from the ground up, starting with a simple objective. I connect with that as an entrepreneur, a human being and someone who desires to improve this world. If you haven’t read the book, read it.

In the Car For most newer vehicle models, standard audio systems offer a wealth of handy music features like favorites lists, Bluetooth integration with your smartphone and access to various apps. Voice-activated controls even let you adjust volume and switch tracks while keeping your eyes on the road and hands on the wheel. Just say the word to turn up the volume on premade playlists such as “70s Road Trip” and podcasts like “The Joe Budden Podcast” with a streaming service like Spotify. It’s no secret that there are dozens, if not hundreds, of apps designed to make driving easier and more enjoyable. You’re probably familiar with apps that provide directions or help you locate the cheapest gas nearby, but don’t overlook entertainment apps that can add a little fun to all that function. If music apps like Spotify aren’t already integrated into your car’s audio system, you can access them through your smartphone then connect via an
auxiliary cord or through Bluetooth with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, which have in-car display options that make streaming audio simple and stress-free.
On the Run One of the fastest growing tech segments is wearable technology, which spans everything from smartwatches to electronic devices integrated into clothing or shoes. Fitness enthusiasts may find that in addition to offering health and fitness functions, many of these devices are also able to stream music. Some wearables come with music apps pre-installed, but many also offer options to add your own custom app selections after purchase. Streaming music directly from your smartphone’s built-in speaker is almost always an option as well, even without any other device. When you want or need to keep your music to yourself, wireless headphones are an increasingly affordable, hassle-free option. Simply pair the headphones with your smartphone for a private music experience even when you’re in a crowded place. Explore more options to take your music everywhere you go at Spotify-Everywhere.com.
Professional quality, accurate analysis of your steps, distance, calories all convenient paired with your app. Monitor your body & live a more rewarding life.

Should I Write A Book? Yes, but be realist!
different things or enjoying certain stories, writer’s take themselves on a journey of enlightenment as well.
2. Therapeutic.
Depending on the topic a writer
chooses to talk about, writing can be quite soothing. Ever consider writing a book? Based on reports and studies, most people feel they ‘have a book in them’. I believe this to be true. Think about it, everyone has a story to tell or something they want to talk about. I am a writer and a publisher; clearly I have lots to say and enjoy helping others publish their ‘voice’; their books. With realistic expectations, good decisions, a book helps both writer and reader. Here are seven good reasons why you should write your book:
1. Enlightening:
Believe it or not writing
about specific topics can be very eye-opening. Although readers travel through a book, learning
3. Revenue. A number of authors are famous and make plenty of money from their books. Granted the number of wealthy authors may be few, but selling any amount of books is another stream of income.
4. Increase Speakers Fee. Speakers are in a position to increase their speakers fee, if they are a published author. Granted the book’s content has to be along the same line as the speech, but a good number of speakers increase their fee, simply because they are published authors.
5. New Ventures.
Books have the potential to open
doors to other ventures. I’ve seen a number of individuals (including myself), that started out with a written book that evolved into an entire business or other venture. Had it not been for the book, the new venture never would have crossed their mind.
6. Get Your Message Out.
If there’s something
you’d like people to know, feel or understand a book is an excellent way to detail your message and say all that you have to say without time restraints.
7. Creates Credibility.
Writing a book surrounding
your profession adds credibility to your work overall. This is especially true if you are an entrepreneur, consultant, or any other business person.

Research big purchases. What constitutes “big” may vary depending on your circumstances and financial status, but regardless of the dollar amount, doing some due diligence before purchases is a good idea. The average millennial will do 4.6 hours of research before buying a big-ticket item like a mattress or car, according to a survey conducted by OnePoll on behalf of Mattress Firm. Millennials are also likely to seek input from others, with one in five consulting four or more people for their opinions on a purchase. Photo courtesy of Getty Images
5 Tips to Manage Money Smarter There’s more to managing your money than paying your bills and successfully avoiding overdraft charges (although those are definitely steps in the right direction). Effectively managing your money takes time and planning, but the payoff may be a stronger financial future. Create a budget. Some people avoid making a monthly budget because they think they don’t need one. However, having a clear idea of the money coming in and going out of your bank account each month can help you make better spending decisions. A budget doesn’t have to be complicated; it can be as simple as a spreadsheet that lists your monthly income and expenses. Be sure to consider long-term debt, like student loans, and treat your savings account as a payee you owe each month. Track your spending. In a similar vein, it’s a good idea to see where your non-bill-related spending goes. For example, you may stop by the grocery store more frequently than you realize, and each of those trips is likely going to cost you more than if you limited it to just once or twice a week. Many banks and credit institutions offer charts and graphs that break down your spending so you can see exactly where your money is going and use that information to make adjustments.
“Doing research before making a big purchase can make all the difference,” said Timothy Mayes, Mattress Firm’s senior manager of eCommerce merchandising. “There are several resources available such as online reviews, blogs and even guides on the best time to buy that can help save you money on larger purchases. If you find yourself overwhelmed with too many options, recommendations from friends and family are the best resources to help you narrow down your choices.” Prepare for emergencies. If a single unexpected event would cripple you financially, it’s a good idea to build an emergency fund that could help you weather through a storm. A job loss, accident or illness would substantially alter your income, expenses or both, so having at least a few months of salary stashed in savings could make a major difference in how long that unfortunate scenario affects your life. Finance purchases responsibly. Building credit takes time and responsibility, but if you don’t ever borrow money, you won’t have a chance to earn the rates reserved for exceptional credit holders. Financing a moderately sized purchase, such as a mattress, is a good starting point. It may be out of reach for a cash payment, but the balance you carry could be paid in a reasonably short timeframe. To build good credit, always make payments on time and make monthly payments larger than the minimum payment – which is usually just the interest – so you’re actually paying down the principal. Following these tips and taking advantage of product sites that offer resources and information on a potential purchase may aid in your long-term financial health. ON-TREND HOME DESIGN 6 design approaches to explore in 2019 FAMILY FEATURES
T
he influence of global cultures is increasingly visible in home decor as technology expands homeowners’ worldviews. Acting on the inspiration of global trends can be as simple as shifting your outlook to bringing eye-catching features and everyday functions into your home. For example, playing with color, replacing doors and incorporating unique accents can help contribute to an on-trend style that flows seamlessly from room to room. Colors offer the opportunity to create a mood and update a space. Doors provide an average of 800 square feet of previously untapped design potential that can add visual interest and enhance the functionality of a room. Unique accents invite whimsy and individuality. As you make plans to redesign spaces within your home, watch for these trends in 2019 to support your lifestyle needs and design aspirations.
Nordic Noir If you crave simplicity and cleanliness, embrace the Scandinavian approach to design that’s all about moderation. Nordic Noir by Vikki Jones upholds values of minimalism and timeless devotion to well-made elements that are beautiful in their own simplicity. Muted colors like blue-gray and pale rose come to life on walls and in fabrics. Doors made of dark metal and wood paired with glass panels bring natural light and warmth into the home.
Urban Country This trend brings the look and feel of rural living to urban spaces by pairing crisp white and warm neutrals with ornate fixtures. Elements like a craftsman-style front door with sidelights help to accentuate the home’s original detailing, while wellcrafted, handmade pieces bring the heart and soul of country living into the space.
Urban Country is perfect for the fast-paced urbanite looking to live a more balanced, slow-paced lifestyle. “These macro-trends influence our home design choices, down to the style of a front door,” said Lorena Morales, creative director for Masonite International, a leading designer and manufacturer of interior and exterior doors. “With about 800 square feet of design space to work with, doors should play a pivotal role in the design of any home. A homeowner can begin to transform a room’s entryway from Urban Country to Nordic Noir simply by choosing a door with glass that’s clear over glass with iron caming. Materials, textures and colors are incredibly impactful elements in these trends.”
Rustic Luxury Geared toward those who need a personal space where they can restore energy and find balance,
Rustic Luxury design helps homeowners disconnect from the demands of everyday life. With this trend, the focus is on creating harmony between natural and architectural design elements. Try mixing sculptural design pieces and greenery with natural wood doors and concrete benches for a calming counterbalance to frenetic, fast-paced living.
Pretty and Calm As female buying-power continues to increase, spaces are being redesigned to fit the lifestyles of modern women who often appreciate both contemporary and traditional design. Biophilic elements mixed with palehued colors, luxurious touches and textured glass doors are all key features for Pretty and Calm design. To achieve this style, play with textures that feature warm yet bold colors like pale blue, sunshine yellow and sage. Don’t be afraid to experiment with dissimilar materials to find the right combination of interest and comfort. “Trends like Pretty and Calm lean on neutrals that are more compelling than beige to create beautiful and calm interiors,” said Kate Rumson, interior designer and founder of The Real Houses of Instagram. “When these pale hues are layered with dark, smoky colors like blacks and grays, this trend can appeal to nearly everyone. To complete the room, pair an ornate door featuring glass or polished nickel hardware with a soft finish to create a design element that’s timeless.”
Live and Work If you’re one of more than 3.4 million Americans working from home at least half of the time, you may require transitional spaces that accommodate both productivity and downtime. To adopt this design trend, consider the use of furniture and products that can serve multiple purposes. For example, modern barn doors in bold tones of vibrant orange or cool blue can provide privacy during work hours and serve as an industrial design accent off-hours.
Mediterranean Escape If you classify yourself as a traveler, you may favor the style of Mediterranean Escape. People who travel tend to bring blended influences from various cultures home. This trend helps homeowners showcase the intricate detail and culture in those treasured pieces. Paired with wrought iron accents, warm colors and arched doorways, Mediterranean Escape adds sophistication and story to nearly any space. Trends don’t have to impede individual design. Global influences like sustainability, craftsmanship and simplicity can be the foundation for creating an environment tailored to meet unique lifestyles and needs. Find more information and 2019 design inspiration at MasoniteTrends.com.
DECODING DOOR STYLES Swinging Door: This is a hinged door that swings into or out of a room and is the most standard interior door application. Bifold Door: A folding door that has several sections that fold in pairs. Bifolds are most commonly made for closets but may also be used between rooms. Bypass Door: A bypass door consists of two or more sections that can slide in either direction along one axis on parallel overhead tracks so that they slide past each other. They are most commonly used as closet doors to access one side of the closet at a time. The doors in a bypass unit will overlap slightly when viewed from the front to eliminate any visible gap between them. Barn Door: An on-trend interior door option that uses externally mounted hardware to allow the door to slide over an opening without taking the space needed for a swinging door. 34
