Anthony Cole: With 20 years in the business and his own salon, Anthony Cole knows the value of stylist education. Though formally trained, it wasn’t until Sebastian came along that Anthony was inspired to become an educator himself.
“My mission is to step out of the box. I look at hair as a blank canvas and the scissors are an extension of my hands. With this vision, I create individuality which gives me the freedom to express that”.
Omar Antonio: A firm believer in the power of education to transform a stylist’s aspirations, Omar was discovered by Sebastian in 2004. He freelanced with the Design Team for two years, and continually sought out education opportunities to sharpen his skills.

SCULPTED STYLE THAT SHIMMERS: Gel Forte A strong-hold gel styler, short hair is artfully twisted and coiffed into three unique styles of bold, statement-making shapes.

1. **Apply Gel Forte to wet hair from roots to ends.
1. Using Style 1 as a foundation, on dry hair apply Gel Forte to the roots and lightly to the ends. Make sure to dry the product slightly in your hands before applying to hair. 2. Work product through to build the shape.
Style #3: Editorial 1. Building on Style 2, take random pieces of hair and use a medium sized curling iron to curl the hair in one direction. 2. Brush out the curls and pin them to encourage longlasting shape. 3. Apply Gel Forte to define the style.
2. Blow-dry the hair using a round brush, directing the hair away from the face. At the back of the head, blow dry the hair downwards to build body.

MEDIUM-LENGTH CUT WITH BODY AND VOLUME: Mousse Forte A strong hold mousse, medium-length hair can morph between body-boosting curls and waves on a whim, flaunting strong styles with body and movement.

1. **Apply Mousse Forte to wet hair and use a round brush to blow-dry.
1. Using Style 1 as a foundation, flat iron the hair moving the iron directly down to avoid any bend.
1. Building on Style 2, take horizontal sections within the fringe and apply Mousse Forte. Wrap the clipless curling iron around the sections in one direction. For the rest of the hair, take vertical sections below the round of the head and curl, also using Mousse Forte to set.
2. Once dried, go through the hair with a clipless curling iron to soften the shape
2. Finish the ends with a light touch of Mousse Forte. 3. Take a touch of Mousse Forte and work it lightly into the hair to expose the interior texture.
2. Continue throughout the head, sectioning the back as needed to accommodate more hair. 3. Gently separate the hair with light brush strokes and hands.

1. On wet hair, create a center part, take a V section on either side and twist the hair towards the face. Secure twists with clips. 2. Take 3 horizontal sections in the back and continue twisting, making sure the crown section twist is set lower to avoid excessive volume. Clip and diffuse to set. 3. Once dried, remove the clips. Hold the ends and allow the hair to separate, shaking gently. 4. Finish hair with Microweb Fiber for more defined separation.
1. Using the foundation created in Style 1, take random sized sections of hair and curl using a medium sized curling iron, concentrating at the roots for lift. 2. Brush out the curls. Section hair from the top of one ear to the height of the crown, to the front of the opposite ear. 3. Firmly wrap hair forward around a rattail comb and begin twisting. 4. Pin twists in place so that they are placed lower and slightly on the face. 5. Brush out, set, and place hair.
Style #3: Editorial 1. Building on Style 2, take a horizontal section from the top of one ear to the top of the opposite ear. At the bottom section, push back hair with fingers to create a cushion for shape. 2. Bobby pin to secure the shape. 3. Back brush the top section to build volume and control at the base. 4. Brush the surface of the top section making sure not to remove the foundation created in step 3. Brush into place over the bottom section and secure with pins. 5. Use Microweb Fiber to create separation and control loose hair.

Christian Siriano SPRING/SUMMER ‘14 – September 7th Hair by Sebastian Professional TIP SHEET Christian Siriano Inspiration: Christian Siriano’s Spring 2014 collection is inspired by a recent trip to Isla Mujeres (the “Island of Women”) off Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. The architecture and bright tropical colors of the residential buildings, the crafts, handmade textiles and the Caribbean coast served as strong influences for the colors and silhouettes of the collection. The collection – like the women of the island – is bright, young, fresh, and romantic and is a celebration of women. The Hair Look: On dry, unwashed hair, take 2” sections, starting from the occipital bone, and spritz Volupt Spray on the roots. Pull each 2” section up and over the forehead after it’s been saturated before moving to the next section. Apply a golf ball-sized amount of Mousse Forte from below the roots to the ends. Using hands, roughly dry the hair in a circular motion to create a cushion of interior texture for fullness. Keep the texture and height even throughout. Bring all sections back into a ponytail just above the occipital bone to showcase the round of the head, and secure it with a bungee rubber band. Create flat waves throughout the ponytail by making S-shaped sections with your fingers and clamping them with a straightening iron for a messy texture. Emulsify Microweb Fiber in hands and finger tease the ponytail for added movement. Spritz Shaper to the top of the head while using fingers to push pieces of the hair back to add dry texture. Take ¼” section of hair from the bottom of the ponytail and create a chain braid by tying it in loose knots. Wrap the braid around the ponytail to cover the bungee rubber band and secure for a soft, organic feel.
