RAF Air Cadets Drill and Ceremonial Camp 2022

The RAF Air Cadets have been busy in the local area this summer with a Drill and Ceremonial Camp involving over 300 Cadets from across the UK.

Held mainly at Bodney Camp, the week included a range of drill activities from foot drill, continuity drill and arms drill which culminated in a large-scale final parade at RAF Honington with Station Commander, Group Captain Holland as Reviewing Officer. This was the first opportunity since the Pandemic to parade en-masse and to refresh skills lost during the past 2 years.

Supported by superb music from the Air Cadet’s own musicians, the impressive parade included 2 Colour Parties and not forgetting the Continuity Drill – watch out QCS!

Led by Squadron Leader Ryan Jones of the Essex Wing, he said ‘it was an absolute privilege to be there and lead the parade which displayed all of the hard work of everyone’.

It was a pleasure to host the Cadets and Staff at RAF Honington - The Cadets took great pride in their achievements and appearance and we congratulate them and the Cadet Force Adult Volunteers for their hard work and dedication and the pride that they showed in a polished performance by everyone.
